The issue isn’t the role of police, it’s corruption. There should be federal oversight into every level of law enforcement to prevent pockets of corruption, and constant investigations into corruption. There should also be federally required psychological testing for police.

It's not that deep. BAM went to a judge, told their side in order to get the 'gag order'. BAM can not physically serve Ben while he is in another country, judge approved email. The judge can not hear Ben's side while he is out of country. Judge has to take BAM's side, for now.
