Asrani 1941-2025

Rest in Peace Asrani sahab 🙏🙏 ,

🙏🙏🙏

The most under rated actor! Some unconfirmed sources say he’s the one who launched Jaya Bahaduri from Koshish.

What an actor!! While he's famous for Sholay, I just loved him as Dharmendra's friend Prashant in Chupke Chupke. He had an inimitable style!! Prabhu diwangat aatma ko shaanti den 🙏

Great Actor still I can't sayvhe acted he lived the role of British Jailor Om Shanti Shivaikyamasthu

Om Shanti. A great actor 🙏

Rip! My favorite scene will always be "jailoooor". I say it every time I touch something too hot to handle.

Jails of heaven will now be safe... Angrezo ke zamane ke jailer jo chale gaye wahan!! RIP Asrani😢

Really a sad day. He was a well respected actor of great repute. Gave us many memorable roles to remember him by. RIP 🙏

The most epic character that he played. Angrez ke zamane ka jailer.

He will be missed. From Sholay to Dhamaal he touched generations with him comic timing. Om Shanti 🙏

Asrani, full name Govardhan Asrani, was a veteran Indian actor and director known primarily for his comedic and supporting roles in Bollywood, with a career spanning over five decades. He is most famously known for his role as the Jailer in the iconic 1975 film Sholay, with the unforgettable dialogue: "Hum angrezon ke zamaane ke jailer hain." RIP #Asrani
