Llevo años siguiendo tu trabajo y aún a día de hoy me llega esa mezcla del primer día entre no entender lo que veo y sentir una completa fascinación.

How does this work? Are there like cells that have info about where they are in the anatomy, and what neighbours they have, and with which color they want to be filled?

njecting manual cursor perturbation to escape a gradient trap is a crude but acceptable heuristic. the biological user is essentially functioning as a manual temperature parameter for simulated annealing tbh.

michael levin talked about this..

yes! @drmichaellevin's work is one of the main reasons I'm working on this. Thinking of morphogenesis as a navigation problem where higher-level systems deform the energy landscape to reach different energy minima had a big influence on my implementation

what in the hell

May I ask pls, is that software running a bio physics like sim, or at least trying to, or is it more an Ai artistic impression of it.....? Does it use electrochemical gradients for the homomorphology ? Have you tried, TCM's merdian system, - as per research by Dr Robert O'Becker? - The body electric, on precisely that Q - how to regrow body parts....

there is a physics simulation, yes, under the hood it's basically the finite element method with a neo-Hookean model, an extension of with support for topological changes and a few more physics-based energy functions that control morphogenesis

Maybe add a slight Cephalo-caudual electric field, as per most critters. then let the current flow, have it follow limb anatomy, you need 3 for yin / inside the limb, and 3 for outside, if using a TCM meridian model... The trick would be to run a physics real sim, that uses electrochemical gradients from normal physiology, and maps it to Peri-neural tissue, or ? dunno ? whatever the structure is that the ?semiconductor? charge flows along.... it could be the fascia ? I recog western anatomy has no correlate for the Chi Meridians... but bioelectricty and current of injury are pretty well mapped, and you seem to be on the verge of a rather important bio med break through, in understanding how homo-morphology, works, and could be enhanced by restoring entire body-field homeostasis... Cell to cell adhesions and other local cytokines, might also help inform the body, where abouts it is, regards the entire map, - induce plenipotentiary to differentiate into cell lineages, skin, bone, muscle etc... 3 layers, exoderm, mesoderm and endoderm, when it starts as a embryo... seems common body plan, for most cordate critters like lizards ? I find your sim fascinating, great work btw....

Interesting that you mention ectoderm, mesoderm and endoderm. Getting something like gastrulation to form those layers has been on my mind for a while. One key step like apical constriction can be explained in elastic terms, so it may be possible with some more work on this model

isn't that lowkey how it looks when we go from gamete -> multicellular organism?

sick!!

Paresen micro bots, los de Big hero

this is insane great job :D

Assisted recovery: the fine art of getting unstuck without admitting you were stuck.
