John Lewis was a hero of mine. He reminded us that our right to vote survives because good people show up. Speak out. Cause good trouble when necessary. We could all use a little bit of John Lewis’ courage right now to push back on this administration’s brazen attacks on voting rights. This is an attack on our core freedoms. This blatant power grab shows just how far they will go to try to suppress votes. In Congress, I fought to expand voting rights and protect our democracy.
