I was completely out of my element and weirded out by this strange fandom. But I opened up to it, and fell in love with it that night. Kimberly Stinger and her family went to Stearman Bar and Grill in Benton, Kansas, to celebrate her daughter's 2nd birthday. I stoped by here and they were singing local Swahili songs when I came in. I don’t know anyone here. They don’t know my name or that today is my birthday but this guy started randomly performing Ada Ada as one of his songs. I was wowed 😂🥺🥹 This just feels like a hug from the universe mehn. This is a wonderful season to be in Baku, as the city is filled with lights and decorations welcoming the new year. As a Christian, today I am celebrating Christmas (Orthodox calendar), together with the 250,000 members of the Christian community here, which enjoys freedom of faith and worship. Two weeks ago I celebrated Hanukkah with the Jewish community, which is the one of the biggest in the Muslim world. They also enjoy full religious freedom, and they feel safer practicing their faith here in Azerbaijan than in most European capitals, especially as antisemitism is on the rise these days. Last week we celebrated the New Year, Novi God, together with all the citizens of Azerbaijan, regardless of their ethnicity or religion. Azerbaijan is an example of moderation and tolerance, where Muslims, Christians and Jews can live their faith without fear. Merry Christmas!
