At first, it was a bit difficult to arrange positions, the CEO also checked the girls and ask for them to not kneel in the front, but I don't know why, because it was so crowded there, the organizers of this event told the girls to kneel in the...

.Nathaniel E Burleson: “Your parents were there, your husband was there, your daughter to support you on Saturday. What was it like being rushed off the stage? Being backstage while they were still out there and waiting?” Weijia Jiang: “Nate, it was terrible. You’re right. I was wearing many hats, chief among them, mother and daughter and wife, and so when I went in the back and I could see the monitors of the crowd, I immediately looked for them in their table, and I was asking, anybody who would hear me, what happened? Is anybody hurt? Is there a threat? Is there someone in the ballroom? And, you know, it was almost like I was just talking to myself, but begging for answers, not only for me, but for everyone in the room who I wanted to get answers for. But that was a very difficult additional layer, obviously, because my family was right there, and I wanted to make sure that they were safe. That’s how everybody felt in the room, and at the same time, I had a duty as head of the Association to try to provide a sense of calm, to make sure there wasn’t panic in the time.” Gayle King: “Weija, you did that very well. I know Frankie is only seven. How did you explain this to her? Briefly, what did you tell her? Because they must have been terrified watching you rush off the stage that way.” Major Garrett Garrett: Yes.” King: “Your mom is on her knees. Yes.” Jiang: “Yes, she was very scared. But, you know, we had a few conversations about how most of the people in this world, almost everybody in this world, are good people, and when there are bad people, there are also police and law enforcement and people there to keep us safe, which is exactly what happened, and we are deeply, deeply grateful for all of those men and women in uniform who did keep us safe and put their lives on the line to make sure almost 3,000 people in that ballroom went home that night.” Burleson: “Well said, Weijia.” Garrett: “Weijia, nobody could have done it better than you. Thank you.”

#emiamily 🧡: I just got back from Italy. I went to Rome for a fan meeting to meet the fans there, and they were so lovely. At first, the staff told me that fans here might be a bit quiet, but that wasn't true at all. The fans were so hyped! The staff might have been used to the fans of our male artists and expected them to be quiet. But since Bonnie and I are the first girls couple to go to Italy, the staff said they were shocked too by how incredibly hyped the fans were. They were so loud, singing along, and really enjoying. 🎤: So how was it? How overwhelming was the happiness to see the Italian fans giving you such a warm welcome? 🧡: They were so sweet and welcoming. Honestly, I didn't expect that going there, there would be this many fans waiting for us. I’m just so glad. 🎤: Did they have any surprises for you? Like a special project during the fan meeting? 🧡: A surprise? Well, they did have a project... and in that project, there was a clip that popped up from way back in the very beginning. Someone had interviewed me and asked where I wanted to go with Bonnie, and I said I wanted to go to Italy. When that clip came up again just now, after a little more than a year had passed, tears just started rolling down my face. I was like, "Wow, we wanted to come back then, and we actually made it here this fast?" I was just... 🎤: Was this a first time for EmiBonnie as well? 🧡: Yes, it was EmiBonnie's first time in Europe. Italy was our first destination.

“This year you won Monaco, you won Silverstone, and you won the World Championship. What else is there left to do?” Lando: “I mean, they're really the best ones. Just downhill from here. I would have loved to make my life a bit easier and winning just earlier next time. But it's always more exciting when it kind of goes down to the final race, final few laps. It's more exciting for everyone, for you guys most of all. But I won ones that, again, people have dreamt of winning. There are some of the most incredible ones. The lap I did in Monaco in quali was the only other time, probably in the last 10 years, that I cried a little bit over something. Because there I proved myself wrong. It was one other moment this season that I proved myself wrong. Because I had that bad run of results. I just couldn't perform in qualifying. Qualifying has always been my strong suit, my best. Yeah, it's been my strength since I was in karting. All my qualifying results are my thing and they weren’t at the beginning of the season. So, when I went to the hardest track to do a qualifying lap in, I turned off my delta for the first time that weekend. So, I couldn't see if I was on a better lap, worse lap, whatever it was. It's not been my best track in the past. For me to then to go there and put that lap I put in at the end of qualifying was one of the best moments of my career in a way because it was the time I almost doubted myself the most ever. In the most important season that it turned out to be. So, but that one lap, 1 minute 9 seconds was all it needed for me to flip everything and turn that thought of ‘I just don't know if I got this’ to ‘oh, I can definitely do this.’ And that was a pivotal moment for me up here.”

In the past week Clint Russell asked Bret Weinstein how he would grade Trump, now that Bret voted for him for the first time in the 2024 election. Here is Bret's response: "I am confused by what I see... I am completely comfortable with having voted for Trump. It was my first time because of the apocalypse that was represented by the blue ticket. And so I just don't think there was any rational choice. We had an absolute emergency on our hands and this simple ability to vote for something that was in some way authentic made it the only game in town. Now, as for what is transpiring under the Trump administration, I am aware that there is a labyrinth of power and a hidden priority list. The administration presumably has things it wants to accomplish. The labyrinth of power sets the ground rules as to what can be accomplished at what rate and in exchange for what, I know I'm not privy to that. And so the real question is how does the stack up compared to what was possible given the cards that president Trump held on inauguration? And I don't think any of us are in a position to answer that. So, you know, is the disappointment the result of the fact that the constraints on the president are greater than we hoped and maybe imagined? Are they the result of the priorities not being the represented priorities? Undoubtedly that plays some role. But, you know, again, in light of what was, you know, we had President Biden was not the president in the meaningful sense. To have attempted to run him again. And then at the point that that became implausible, to swap in an empty shirt is such a dire commentary on the state of the Republic that I think every conversation about how the Trump administration is doing has to begin with the fact that there was no alternative."
