So, why is Clear Signing crucial? Blind signing — approving transactions without fully readable details — is as dangerous as signing a blank check. It can lead to lost or stolen assets, and billions in crypto have already been lost this way. With Clear Signing, transactions are displayed in a way you can understand and verify.

Establishing Clear Signing as the industry standard is key to minimizing these risks and protecting your assets. But we can’t do it alone. It will take collaboration across the entire ecosystem.

In 2024, we launched our Clear Signing Initiative to empower platforms with the tools needed to enable Clear Signing for their users, whether on a wallet or dApp with a Ledger device.

We began by publishing our Clear Signing Whitepaper to outline the vision. Check it out here: After engaging with developers, we hosted a Request for Comment webinar. If you missed it, watch the recording here:

The next milestone was the launch of our first suite of Clear Signing tools — a simple and easy-to-deploy JSON format. This format ensures smooth integration with wallets and decentralized apps, turning complex smart contract data into a human-readable format. Explore it on Github:

We’re thrilled to announce that MetaMask is the most recent partner to join the Clear Signing Initiative: This marks a huge step forward in making Clear Signing the new standard. More partners are on the way — stay tuned!

While we’ve made great strides in 2024, there’s still a lot to do. Now in 2025, we aim to expand Clear Signing across more blockchains, wallets, and dApps, pushing for wider adoption.
