The Earth has a pulse — and satellites help us see it. This excerpt from the YOU:MATTER exhibit at the National Science and Media Museum shows how everything on the planet is connected — and how space technology is making those connections visible. Satellites track photosynthesis using the faint glow that plants emit — which helps us understand how well they’re absorbing carbon dioxide. Together with other data, like the Greenness Index, this gives scientists insight into global carbon cycles and the health of the planet. NASA, NOAA, JPL, and other agencies use these observations to better understand and care for the Earth.

#WATCH | PM Narendra Modi inaugurated and visited the wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, and conservation centre, Vantara in Gujarat. Vantara is home to more than 2,000 species and over 1.5 lakh rescued, endangered, and threatened animals. PM explored various facilities at the centre. PM also visited the wildlife hospital at Vantara and saw the veterinary facilities which are equipped with MRI, CT scans, ICUs among others, and also house multiple departments including Wildlife Anesthesia, Cardiology, Nephrology, Endoscopy, Dentistry, Internal Medicine etc. PM also played with and fed various species including Asiatic Lion cubs, White Lion cub, Clouded Leopard cub which is a rare and endangered species, Caracal cub among others.

This thread reminded me of Thiel's take on biology and the excuses of biologists for why we aren't solving hard problems (I have a biology background and work as a scientist and still agree with him). My take is that AI won't solve biology, but it will help us understand it at a deeper level. Saying that it is impossible is a lazy take. Saying that AI will solve all problems is a lazy take too. There is an in-between where AI will support and help scientists move things forward. I am really tired of the excuses of the gatekeeper boomer scientists and the hype of the AI bros.
