At this point, every country should be studying what China has done with manufacturing and technology.

This is probably banned in the US because then John Deere can't sell million dollar planting machines.

American Shakers invented seed tape in the early 20th century. The Chinese have spent the industrial age copying, not creating.

This is absolutely not a new thing, I remember sowing carrot seeds in seed tapes as a kid in the 90s.

If the Chinese had the white people mentality they would’ve taken over the world already.

The replies here saying the seed rope is nothing new & China only copies are idiotic. As if an idea is illegitimate if isnt completely new All new ideas are built off old ideas in a beautiful progression of knowledge China built it to scale better than anyone else before

There is no point of studying them. They copied everything.

This is where US should spend more time learning about China , and instead they are focusing on how to restrict them.

Uhm, I bought seeds like that more than thirty years ago.

Horizontal Innovation often gives way to Vertical Innovation. Africa should rapidly embrance what has already worked elsewhere. Import the technology that already works rapidly and then engineer new paths relevant to the country needs.

China can only ever copy. They cannot invent or even innovate. I haven't seen a single Chinse invention nor will I ever see such such an impossible thing.

thinning labor... but i thought you guys managed to go from 400 million people to 1.5 billion in 50 years. Even with the 1 child rule. weird, almost like you're lying about this too. odd

If you want to manufacture in the USA it'd behoove you to make friends with and invite for consultation Chinese factory & automation engineers. They are the masters of this stuff and it's partly because of fierce competition domestically. 100 factories all competing for the bid.

You can achieve wonders when your manufacturing plant labor is only $4-7 per hours.

Sure, Chinese people can't invent new things, only copy current ones. BUT Damn, they industrialize and reduce costs in a way no other nation can.

Not a chinese idea. Also - I like how they use technology to track and spy on their own people. Social credits are genius way to use technology, dont you think?

the vertical integration + long term infrastructure thinking is what gets me. we optimized for quarterly earnings while they built supply chains that span decades

You mean study the countries from which China *stole* the technology from. The thing China is greatest at - globally - beyond a shadow of a doubt - is straight out THEFT of (well) just about anything. Now, kindly f*ck off with this commie propaganda bullshit.

Gardeners been doing this for decades. We use paper towels or toilet paper and "glue" the seeds with the specific spaces required. Works great with carrot seeds.

Awesome stuff. China didn’t become a manufacturing powerhouse overnight. They spent decades building the infrastructure, skills, supply chains, and systems to turn ideas into products at scale. The lesson isn’t just “copy China.” It’s build the capacity to produce.
