He mentions Richard Clarke twice; notes that Bush demoted him upon taking office. Clarke's book "Against All Enemies" makes clear how preventable 9-11 was. The information he developed by the start of the Bush admin would have made the difference, had the Bush admin listened.

Bill is hard to top in moments like that. A master class.

Obama lacked this kind of fighter spirit. He was a morale booster for Dems when running for Presidency or reelect but in between and after he was too friendly, docile. That sucked the fighting spirit from the Dems. Also there was "when they go low we go high" BS

People who weren't there for the 1990's or whose memories are fading forget that Bill Clinton is the best counter-puncher in American politics.

A lot of comments about Bill's fire here...but remember this is 2006. Clinton has been out of office for 5 years. He doesn't have to watch his words/tone/etc because he isn't running for any office. So when comparing this interview to current dems running in 2028, realize that.

The fact Bill got so defensive, tells me he knows he should have taken out Osama Bin Laden when he had the chance and feels guilty about 911. Hind sight is 20/20.

Big Dog knew how to discuss national security and pulled no punches. He is to be credited with how educated the US military is now too.
