He’s neglecting time… The unfathomable amount of time that has passed since the formation of the universe is what has permitted the random events necessary for intelligent life and everything else around us.

It's possible the universe has had billions of randomized situations that failed. Our planets proximity to the sun was simply chance or luck so we had life and billions of years to evolve through natural selection. I believe religion is important, without it you can get lost
