To be clear a lot of them were pantheists and didn't believe in a God who stands outside the universe. To guys like Einstein God and "the Universe" are one and the same. Einstein pledged a belief in Spinoza's God but he actually spells out his thought in this letter: Like many 'mystics' or apophatic theologians across many traditions the core insight is that we are a not a separate kind of thing from the 'Universe' and that collapses the ontology into a monism. There are no separate things there is only one thing and call it whatever you want.

Einsteins view was similar to that of Spinoza. Tesla was more complex but similar to Einstein and Isaac Newton's beliefs would have been considered blasphemous at the time.

Einstein didn’t believe in your bullshit. I certainly don’t give a rats ass about what Newton believed. That mf believed in alchemy. He didn’t know better then and nobody else did. The theory of evolution was still in its infamy then. He probably believed in creationism too.
