Now, it looks like the narrative regarding the US has changed. Medvedev said the US could not be an effective mediator. There are no patented mediators, although many claim to be such. It is hardly plausible that a country that steals presidents and starts conflicts could serve as an effective mediator in all situations.

Finnish President Stubb: Russia has been waging its war of aggression against Ukraine for almost four years. Its actions are illegal and immoral. We are closer to peace than ever during the war, but at the same time we cannot be sure whether Russia is ready for peace. Peace is most often a compromise, and we must prepare for the fact that all parts of a peace agreement will likely not meet our sense of justice. However, we will do everything we can to ensure that Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity are preserved. Ukraine is part of a free and democratic Europe now and in the future. We will continue to support Ukraine, we will not tire, and together with our allies we will ensure that Russia will never again attack its neighbor.
