Where are we in the consumer AI cycle? I went on Bloomberg Technology yesterday to share my thoughts from 2+ years of studying the data 👇 1. We are still so early. In our a16z ranking of the top 50 AI consumer sites, ChatGPT (700M WAUs) has the lead on #2 Gemini by ~10x. And, more than half the list is either general LLM tools (text box as UI!) or creative tools that benefit from hallucination. 2. ...but, models are improving in reasoning and reliability to the point where they can now start supporting use cases that need accuracy and consistency. Ex. health, personal finance, productivity (emails, spreadsheets, and other knowledge work). 3. Big tech is waking up. Google is making waves with both the Gemini series and creative models (Veo 3, nano banana). Grok went 0 -> 20M+ MAUs in <1 year! Alibaba + Bytedance both have top consumer products. Meta still lags - but recent acquisitions may help. 4. AI is going global. Local winners are emerging, especially where products are censored (ex. China) - Quark, Qwen, Kimi have all taken off. The U.S. becomes the biggest market for int'l builders "exporting" their innovation - ex. Manus, Lovable, Eleven Labs. 5. Moats are emerging. 14 cos have made every top 50 web rank (five lists!) Brand, data, + traditional network effects are kicking in. But, consumers won't stick on products where hype is high but value prop isn't there - ex. Deepseek has fallen off everywhere ex-China. 6. The "developer" market is exploding. Pre-AI, it would have been unprecedented to see developer-focused products rival consumer ones on usage. But we see Replit, Lovable, AI Studio, Cursor, and more in our top ranks as vibe coding expands the TAM.

Novak Djokovic says for 99% of the players, reaching a Grand Slam final and a Grand Slam semifinal so far this year would be a very good result, but for him, it’s not enough “At this point in your career, does it still remain about winning titles? Or can you leave a tournament like this with some satisfaction of being able to still compete at that high level and reach a semi of a major?” Novak: “Last year I reached 4 semifinals. This year out of 3 Slams I reached 1 final and 1 semifinal. For 99% of players that would be a very good Grand Slam result, for me it’s not good enough. Because I’m blessed and cursed to be used to something of the highest degree in terms of results and achievements. In some way I’m also dealing with myself in a sense that I’m telling myself, look, this is amazing that you’re still able to play at such a high level and push the youngsters to the limit for Grand Slam titles. But at the same time, I always have the highest expectations for myself. It’s kind of that internal battle of what I’ve been through for 20+ years of my career, what the goals were, the expectations.. and trying to also balance it out and trying to be a bit more humble in that sense. I still enjoy the thrill of competition. Maybe I don’t enjoy all the hard weeks leading up to big tournaments, putting myself over and over again through a lot of pain, physically mostly. I’m glad that this tournament the body held pretty well. Pretty much every other tournament the last few years it was always something. I feel like when I’m healthy I’m still able to play as a top 5 player, still able to compete at the highest level. I like it. I like this life. Tennis has given me everything in my life and has allowed me an opportunity to become who I am. At the same time of course there’s always a question of how far do you wanna go, what you wanna play, how you wanna play, etc. I try to take it, in a sense, a day at a time and see how I feel. I don’t have any pressure or no one is forcing me to play. I do it because I really want to and because I still can play as a top 5 player. Let’s see what’s the future brings.” (via Wimbledon Press)

#1yearofRetro 💙 The first Half of #Retro was filled with Elevative Artistry, Emotional Connect, Craftwise brilliance, One of the Career best performances of Suriya, Technical brilliance, Totally invested Engaging Screenplay and Perfect interval block.. More than anything the Politics of colonisation and the message at the end was so beautifully done!! Especially the Chapter - Love! It was a poetry on screens.. 1st 40 minutes and 20 minutes towards interval block nu this 1 hour was such a masterpiece work both in writing and direction!! That 15 minute Single shot Kanimaa Sequence was Pure Cinema!! I would definitely mention about this as one of the best sequences ever made in indian cinema..🔥 shreyaas krishna ‘s cinematography, Santhosh Narayanan ‘s absolutely mind blowing background score and songs, Make up, Costumes, Stunts னு Craftwise it was a stunner in every department! Though I didn’t like Loki- Vijay - Ani’s master on the whole, I’d still rate it as one of the best cinematic experience I had on theatres because of the performances of vijay, VjS and I loved so many moments all over the film from the Actor - Director - music director trio.. I feel retro is that for suriya 💙 எனக்கு Overall message ஆ, Scenes ஆ, Idea level ல 2nd Half பிடிச்சிருந்தாலும் ஏன் இவ்ளோ All over the place ஆ இருக்குனு தான் முதல் முறை பாக்கறப்போ தோணுச்சு.. And Suriya is one of the finest performers we’ve got in Tamil.. சில காலமா வாரணம் ஆயிரம் and NVOK Hangover அவரோட எல்லா Roles லயும் தெரியுதுனு சொல்லிட்டு இருந்த எனக்கு, “This is the performer Suriya I was waiting for!! This is what he’s capable of!!” னு தோண வெச்ச படம் #Retro தான்! I would rate this performance as one of his career best performances!! So tough to crack and convey to the audience.. Actor ஆ சூர்யா யாரு, அவரோட Potential என்னனு காட்டறதுக்கு சமீபமா வந்த படங்கள்ல Perfect portfolio படம்னா அது Retro தான்..💯 The mirror scene where he tries to smile so hard and The interval scene where he smiles for the first time will go down as one of the best scenes in suriya’s career!! But he pulled it off so well!! I might have complaints with the products Suriya Sivakumar has given, but I would be the happiest person if I see something good happens for him!! Retro is one such good thing happened to him! Always thanking karthik subbaraj always for that! 💙

"A severe lack of knowledge.” I wonder how our 21 year-old Senator would go with this CLIMATE QUIZ …. 1. If Australia where to go Net Zero by 2050 (and assuming C02 is the control knob for global temperatures as per the IPCC estimates) to the nearest 1/100th of a degree, what will be the difference average global temperatures at the end of this century ? 2. As a percentage, what is the level of CO2 currently in the atmosphere? 3. Australia has 21 GW of coal-fired capacity left, all of which is to be eliminated by 2050 under Net Zero. What is the total capacity in GW of the new coal-fired power stations under construction in China ? 4. Australia mines around 390 million tonnes of coal annually. How many million tonnes of coal does India mine annually, and by how many millions of tonnes are they planning to increase it by over the next 5 years 5. As a percentage of C02, what is the ideal level of Co2 in the atmosphere. 6. Explain the chemical difference between "Carbon pollution" and the CO2 that turns still water in sparkling mineral water. 7. Of Australia’s total "emissions" that are planned to be reduced to Net Zero - what percentage of these total emmissions come from electricity generation ? 8. To the nearest degree, what is the current average global temperature ? 9. To the nearest degree, what is the ideal average global temperature ? 10. Being from South Australia, in what year did the highest temperature ever record in SA occur. 11. In what year did Adelaide experience its longest run of extremely hot days ? 12. According to the peer-reviewed research, what has been trend in rainfall over past 150 years in Adelaide? 13. What has been the trend in the number of Australian cyclones (both severe and non severe) since 1970 - are they increasing, decreasing or steady 14. Over the past century, is the area of Australia beung burnt annually by bushfires increasing, decreasing or steady. 15. What is the biggest killer; extreme hot weather or extreme cold weather? 16. How will Net Zero be achieved in the agriculture sector, where the "emmissions" to be reduced to Net Zero come from the burps and farts 17. Explain how the subsidies work for roof-top solar 18. What will be the penalty payable on a new Ford Ranger in 4 years time under the so-called vehicle efficiency standards If have such a lack of knowledge, that you can’t answer questions, you have no place commenting on Net Zero and no place speaking about in Parliament.

Total BS. Kobe is ranked 10 or 11th all time Bill Simmons Tell me once when any player ever uttered “Kobe is my GOAT”. Name one player who stated “Duncan is the toughest to guard in the league”. Never been said once. But for Kobe, it’s said. “Duncan is our Jordan”. Never said about Duncan, but said about Kobe. Why don’t these people ever mention Duncan getting clapped up by Kobe in 2008? We’ll get there but There’s a host of other stuff to get into though 1st. Kobe not Top 10? Really? How, with this resume. And I’m not even going to mention everything: People leave Kobe off the top 5 list and it’s a shame because you claim to know ball. Let’s dig into this. People get on Kobe for winning with Shaq when you know good and well Kareem and Magic hasn’t done what Kobe has done. Kobe proved that he was an all time Top 5 legend by winning back to back Chips without a Top 75 Teammate POST SHAQ!! They said he couldn’t win without him and he DID, yet they you and the media still punish him. Kobe was already on pace to be a Top 15-20ish player had he never won anymore championships without Shaq because his talent demands that. But he did over and above that POST SHAQ. Kobe proved the “you can’t win without Shaq narrative” was a sham. Not only did he prove it wrong, he totally obliterate that stronghold the media put on his career. Kobe faced the toughest of competition, TORCHED his rival Tim Duncan, had an all time run from 08-10 that saw him outdual and beat the same teams in the finals that Lebron, his Co-Megastar of the league at the time, would lose to. Kobe was ONE of the reasons Wade teamed up with your #2 All time guy Lebron, to get rings in a league where the Celtics and Kobe seemed to be unbeatable to Lebron and Wade. People act like Kobe didn’t cross every box and jump every hurdle y’all put in front of him. He has championships, Consensus 1-2 Most skilled all time, Stats, 4th points all time (despite slow start to career) and is the 1-2 greatest scorer of all time considering he did what he did in the slowest paced era where the league still esteemed defense and drafted and paid big money in free agency for “KOBE STOPPERS”. AND HE DID ALL THIS IN THE WESTERN CONFERENCE!! 25-10 vs. 50 WIN PLAYOFF teams (most all time) 122- 40 point games 25- 50 point games 6- 60 point games 12 time All Defensive team 9 time All Def 1st(most alltime for Gaurd) Revered by his rivals as Top 1-5 all time AND MJ STATED THAT Kobe is the only player he thinks can beat him!! And you know the only reason Kobe doesn’t have more MVPS is because of COLORADO so don’t even bring up that media driven narrative award. I’m done 🫡 Oh, before I go, here’s that spanking I was referring to in 2008⬇️

Ray Kurzweil has been saying the same thing for 60 years and the world spent six decades calling him crazy and now every prediction he made is coming true ahead of schedule (Save this). At age 16, Kurzweil wrote a paper arguing that computing followed exponential growth. From 1939 to today, computing power increased 75 quadrillion fold in hardware alone and when you multiply that by roughly a million to one improvement in software, you get total computational gains that are functionally incomprehensible. This is the precise explanation for why large language models could not exist four years ago and do now. The jump from nothing to GPT-4 to reasoning models to agents happened in less time than it takes most companies to ship a product roadmap and that pace is still accelerating, not plateauing. Kurzweil's most striking observation is about Nvidia specifically. Nvidia's engineers are not looking at 1939 relay computers when they design their chips but when you plot the exponential growth curve, Nvidia's latest silicon lands on the exact same line as those 1939 relays, same slope, 87 years apart. The curve does not care what technology is enabling it. Relays gave way to vacuum tubes, to transistors, to integrated circuits, to GPUs, and now to custom AI accelerators and the rate of improvement has not deviated. Right now we are making approximately 10x the total computational gains per year, hardware and software multiplied together. The reason this moment is categorically different from any prior tech cycle is where we sit on the curve. Exponential growth is deceptive in its early stages, it looks almost linear when the numbers are small, which is why people keep underestimating it. Computing power per dollar has increased 11,200x since just 2005. We are now at the part of the curve where the doubling is happening on top of an already enormous base which means each new generation of AI capability is not marginally better, it is structurally different. Kurzweil made his AGI-by-2029 prediction in 1999 and was dismissed by the academic establishment. He carries an 86% documented prediction accuracy across 30 years of published forecasts. Today, the major AI labs have independently converged on the same timeline window because the curve forced them there.

Here's how I'm running automated content engine in 2 files 1 markdown file = my wiki 1 html file = my dashboard that's the whole stack. [ the architecture, in plain words ]: LLM wiki = a single markdown file holding my audience DNA, 15 tracked creators, every viral topic from the last 30 days HTML artifact = a single page that reads that markdown file AND can trigger my agents the artifact and the agent talk to each other directly the wiki is the shared brain [ what I actually see when I open it at 9am ]: > 5 trending topics ranked by my audience-DNA fit > 3 KOL posts worth quoting today > last week's saved tweets (so I can ride waves that are still warm) > buttons: [draft tweet] [draft QT] [schedule] [log idea] 1. I click "draft tweet" on a topic 2. the artifact pings my agent 3. agent reads the wiki, drafts in MY voice, returns it to the artifact 4. I edit, schedule, done 15 minutes from morning coffee to 3 scheduled posts [ how to build the same in one evening ]: > step 1: dump your domain knowledge into ONE markdown file (audience profile, KOL list, content rules, voice guide, anything an agent would need to do YOUR job) > step 2: ask claude to build an html artifact that reads from that file ("here's my wiki, build me a dashboard with these views") > step 3: add buttons for the actions you do daily (draft, schedule, log, score, search — your workflow, not mine) > step 4: wire each button to call your agent via tool calls (so the artifact and the agent talk directly) the moment your artifact reads your wiki AND triggers your agents.. most SaaS tools you currently pay for quietly become unnecessary dashboards I used to pay $50/month for now sit in a single html file I can rebuild in 20 minutes every "I'll build a SaaS for this" idea you had last year is a 200-line file you write in an afternoon if you want to get the same content engine, just reply "CONTENT" and will send you in DMs later we're going from buying software to owning it.

Elon Musk just put a five-year timeline on moving the majority of AI compute off the surface of the Earth. Musk: “5 years from now my prediction is we will launch and be operating every year more AI in space than the cumulative total on Earth.” Not decades from now. Five years. Dwarkesh Patel broke down the math live. 100 gigawatts of AI in orbit requires roughly 10,000 Starship launches per year. One launch every single hour. Musk confirmed it without flinching. The entire operation could run on as few as 20 or 30 physical Starships, each one cycling back to the pad every 30 hours. A fleet smaller than most regional airlines. Deploying more intelligence per year than the entire planet currently runs. Musk: “SpaceX is gearing up to do 10,000 launches a year. And maybe even 20 or 30,000 launches a year.” Every data center under construction right now. Every GPU cluster. Every billion-dollar AI facility going up across three continents. All of it combined would still fall short of what one company plans to put above the atmosphere every year. The reason no one else can follow him here is physics. AI scaling on the ground is already hitting hard ceilings. Grid capacity. Permitting. Cooling. The surface of the planet has a finite budget for how much power you can feed into compute. Space does not. Unobstructed solar at a scale Earth physically cannot provide. Musk: “On Earth you can get to around a terawatt a year of AI in space before you start having fuel supply challenges for the rocket.” A terawatt. That single number exceeds the entire electrical generation capacity of the United States. And the only constraint Musk names is not engineering. Not physics. Not capital. Fuel supply for the rockets. This is why SpaceX and xAI were never two separate visions. The rockets exist to move intelligence off the surface. The AI exists to justify building the rockets. One architecture split across two companies. Every other AI lab on the planet is fighting over the same finite pool of terrestrial power and real estate. Musk is not trying to win that fight. He is leaving the board entirely. Five years from now, the majority of functioning intelligence in the solar system may not be on this planet. It will be above it, running on sunlight, bound by no grid, governed by no jurisdiction. Earth becomes the secondary compute environment in its own solar system.

“The UK is preparing an aircraft carrier for possible deployment to the Middle East” This is pure posturing by Keir Starmer. Other than saving political face what is the benefit of deploying the HMS Prince of Wales Carrier Strike Group? And where would we deploy it to? I’ve repeatedly warned of the overstretch our armed forces face as this Government overcommits them, just as the previous Labour Government did. HMS Prince of Wales is supposed to be deploying to the High North on Operation Firecrest later this year, and was cited as the reason HMS Duncan couldn’t be the T45 deployed to Cyprus. Reducing its notice-to-move from 10 days to 5 sounds good but why would we deploy it, given the resources required to move it to the Arabian Gulf - a near whole force effort for the RAF and Royal Navy? Not to mention the risk of losing it. Last week we weren’t even prepared to strike Hezbollah. We could just move two squadrons of F-35B to RAF Akrotiri. That’s why it’s there. But that doesn’t have the same “strong leader” optics. We have just enough escort ships but no Astute class submarine; HMS Anson is undergoing AUKUS maintenance in Australia. HMS Dragon is still in Portsmouth, preparing to head to the Eastern Mediterranean and HMS Dauntless is in FTSP. If we were to deploy, how would we cover Operation Firecrest and how would we fulfil our NATO Standing Maritime Group One flagship commitment? Additionally, what effect will this have on the ship’s company(s) who only returned from an 8-month deployment late last year. Meanwhile the USS George H.W. Bush Carrier Strike Group yesterday completed COMPTUEX and is about to be tasked to the Eastern Mediterranean as the US’s third CSG in the region, replacing the USS Gerald Ford which is now in the Red Sea. The Defence Secretary will need to explain what the intention is here, and what deconfliction has taken place with our allies already in the Eastern Mediterranean.

A brave Lebanese photo journalist who is still based in Nabatieh was able to capture at least one Merkava tank burning in the outskirts of Arnoun Castle, on the outskirts of Nabatieh region, after a failed Israeli invasion attempt from Yohmor village towards the strategic hill top. The resistance did announce earlier targeting 3 Merkava tanks with ATGMs, while Israeli evacuation helicopters were seen at least 3 times today evacuating Israeli casulaties from the battlefield. The blackout imposed on the area by the Israelis warning everyone for complete evacuation of entire South Lebanon and targeting cars on the roads lead to very few journalists able to access the area and report the situation. I added a video for the area for the audience to understand the location and geography of the scenes, where Arnoun castle sits on a hill top located 5 kms away from the borders, and is elevated 700 m above sea level and 300 meters above its outskirts. more than 200 Israeli airstrikes attacked the vilages in direct outskirts of Arnoun and Yohmor and Zawtar in the last 48 hours, with continuous artillery shelling. I was not able to reach there today after the road i usually take, Zefta, was warned and bombed. Yesterday, the same road witnessed an ugly attack against a truck loaded with horses, their owner was trying to evacuate them from his farm in Zefta village. These images coming from the frontline are very important as they dismantle the Israeli systematic psychological warfare on our people about an "easy invasion", and depict the reality on the ground they are facing despite all their unlimited fire power and unchalleged air superiority due to unconditional and open western support.

David Zucker wrote some of the funniest movies in Hollywood history: Airplane, Naked Gun, and Scary Movie 3. He's probably the world’s top spoof comedy writer, and he shared all his tricks in our interview. Highlights below: 1. Let the lines do the work: Zucker doesn’t want actors to try to be funny on top of the dialogue itself. Trying to be funny kills the humor, so he tells them to speak plainly. 2. Spoofs work best when actors play it like they don't know they're in a comedy. 3. Keep the audience laughing. Like, literally... don't let them stop. It's easier to keep an audience laughing than to start them up all over again. That’s why his movies have joke-after-joke-after-joke... in endless succession. 4. Cut on the laugh, not after it. The moment you hit peak funny, move on. 5. Jokes aren’t enough… Even comedies need a story the audience actually cares about. 6. Unlike most kinds of writing, it’s way easier to write comedy in a group because you can gauge other people's reactions so much faster. 7. By the time a topic is being referenced at major film awards or late night TV shows, it’s past its prime. Talk about something else. 8. Don’t blame others for failure. When something doesn’t work, look in the mirror and ask: "What did I do wrong?" 9. Don’t break the frame by reminding the audience that they’re watching a movie (with some exceptions). 10. Your first draft will be too long. It’s true for writing and it’s true for film. 11. Avoid jokes that depend on trivia, where you reference something so specific that only a few people will get it. 12. Don’t acknowledge your jokes. Doing so kills the laugh. 13. Zucker got started doing in-person comedy sketches, which taught him how to gauge an audience's feedback to see if a joke is funny. Unlike most directors, he does the same thing with movies, which gives him a better sense for what is / isn’t funny. 14. Doing these live performances taught Zucker that being clever isn't enough. You have to actually get people to laugh. If they aren't laughing, it ain't funny. Simple as that. Doesn't matter how smart you are. 15. The last rule is that there are no rules. It is sometimes wise to break every one of these rules. I've shared the full interview with David Zucker below. If you want to watch on YouTube or listen on Apple or Spotify, check out the first reply tweet and you'll find the link.

let’s start where this actually lives, not where you want it to live. with the math. the last three weeks of dynamite: 👉 765k 👉 730k 👉 654k that is not a ramp. that is not momentum. that is not “heating up” into a conversion window. that is a decline into it. you are looking at a -111k drop in two weeks, roughly 14–15% contraction from the high to the low, at the exact point where a traditional ppv cycle should be stabilizing or expanding. instead, you have compression. average those three weeks and you land at roughly ~716k linear viewers. that is your real, observable, measurable audience. not hypothetical reach not cumulative impressions not social engagement proxies actual people sitting down and watching the show in the time slot that matters for conversion. i’ve already laid out in detail what the max numbers actually represent and how simulcast behavior works, so i’m not going to re-litigate all of that here. but it matters enough to say again clearly: max is not a second audience at scale. it is a distribution extension that splits the same audience. it does not double your reach. it does not materially expand your funnel. it shifts a portion of existing behavior from one pipe to another. the short version is already established: 👉 max is not additive at scale 👉 max is a split of the same audience 👉 max realistically contributes ~50k–150k, ~75k center so your total reachable audience on a good night is: 👉 ~790k–800k all-in that’s the funnel. that’s the ceiling. that’s the number you are working from. that’s the universe that can possibly convert into a paid transaction. not hypothetical not inflated not “what if” that is the real audience number. now take the number dave is floating: 👉 ~143k ppv buys run the only equation that matters: 👉 143k ÷ 800k = ~17.9% conversion stop there for a second Dave Meltzer is unironically asserting that nearly 1 out of every 5 viewers is converting into a $40–$50 transaction in 2026 in a market with: – no centralized ppv infrastructure – subscription-first behavior – widespread piracy – fragmented pricing (domestic, max discount, vpn international) – a declining weekly audience trend that is the claim. not “strong performance.” not “better than expected.” not “up year over year.” the claim is nearly 1 in 5 viewers converting into a $40–$50 transaction in 2026. this is where the conversation should end, because that number does not exist anywhere in modern media behavior. it doesn’t exist in boxing. it doesn’t exist in ufc. it doesn’t exist in any scaled transactional model operating in the current environment. and more importantly, it didn’t exist consistently even when the infrastructure supporting it was intact. again, this is the part people either don’t understand or choose to ignore: ppv is not just a pricing model. it is an infrastructure model. and that infrastructure is gone. for decades, the backbone of ppv was inDemand. that system wasn’t just pushing content out to cable homes. it was aggregating buys, standardizing reporting, and creating a reconciliation layer that allowed promoters, distributors, and networks to operate off the same dataset. if you were serious about this business, you could triangulate numbers. you could get within a narrow band of reality because the pipes were real and the accounting was shared. that system shut down in 2025. 👉 143k ppv buys is not an aggressive take 👉 it is not an optimistic take 👉 it is a structurally impossible take because we know what real conversion looks like. we do not need to guess. it has been modeled across combat sports, boxing, ufc, and multiple transactional platforms. the ranges are stable: 👉 1–3% → normal 👉 3–5% → strong 👉 5%+ → elite and rare, reserved for events with massive cultural heat and crossover appeal those ranges were established when the infrastructure was intact, pricing was more controlled, piracy was less frictionless, and distribution was more centralized. today, every one of those conditions is worse. pricing is fragmented. you have $49.99 standard, $39.99 through max, international pricing accessible through vpn, and a piracy environment where high-quality streams are available instantly. that is a high-friction, high-leakage system. so conversion should compress, not expand. now apply real-world conversion to your real audience: 👉 800k × 2% = 16k buys 👉 800k × 3% = 24k buys 👉 800k × 5% = 40k buys that’s your range. 👉 ~15k–35k realistic 👉 ~20k–30k as the most defensible center 👉 ~40k reasonable given the strength of the headliners now invert the math, because this is where the claim completely collapses. if you want to justify 143k buys at even a healthy 3% conversion rate, you need roughly 4.7 million engaged viewers. so the question becomes extremely simple: where are the other four million people? 👉they are not on linear television. 👉they are not on max. 👉they are not showing up in any digital engagement metrics that correlate with that level of demand. 👉they are not visible anywhere in the ecosystem that would need to exist to support that level of conversion. 👉👉👉👉👉 they do not exist. and this is before you even account for the trend line moving the wrong way. you are not converting off a growing base. you are converting off a shrinking one. you are not building urgency. you are losing reach. that matters, because conversion does not happen in a vacuum. it happens on top of momentum, visibility, and audience expansion. when those inputs are declining, conversion does not spike to historic highs. it compresses further. the biggest fights in the world are no longer relying on ppv as their primary distribution model. they are moving to platforms that guarantee reach and revenue up front. the most recent example should end this conversation for anyone actually paying attention: netflix just locked tyson fury vs anthony joshua for a major global fight this august. that is one of the biggest possible matchups in boxing. in any previous era, that is a premium ppv event with massive buy expectations, heavy marketing, and a full transactional rollout. instead, it is going to a subscription platform. why? because the economics are better. the reach is global. the friction is lower. the platform values engagement at scale over one-off purchases. that is where the industry is. so when you are being asked to believe that a weekly wrestling property with a ~700k linear audience, declining into its ppv window, is somehow generating six-figure transactional buys inside a subscription platform in 2026, you are not just being asked to accept a number. dave is asking you to ignore the direction of the entire market. and that’s before you even bring in platform behavior. max is not a live sports-first platform. it does not behave like one. when max has something it cares about, it promotes it aggressively. homepage rails. push notifications. press releases. talent integration. cross-platform amplification. you do not see that here. and that absence is not accidental. platforms surface what they want you to see. they amplify what drives engagement and revenue. if ppv at scale were happening inside that ecosystem, it would be visible. it would be part of the narrative. it would be monetized loudly. it isn’t. and that’s before you even factor in the other variables i’ve broken down in detail before: 👉 i’ve already debunked why the max numbers people are throwing around don’t make sense 👉 i’ve already explained what the linear number actually represents and what it doesn’t 👉 i’ve already mapped the media rights landscape in 2026, including how these properties are being evaluated ahead of the paramount–wbd merger the wsj reports could close as early as july so when you’re being told by dave that a property with a ~700k weekly audience trending downward into a ppv window is generating six-figure transactional buys at premium pricing inside a subscription platform in 2026, you’re not being given data. you’re being given a number that does not reconcile with anything else in the system. that’s math. stop it - 45

Vietnam just wiped out 86 million bank accounts. The narrative is "fraud prevention." The reality is a live-fire drill for a global digital control grid. And Australia is reading from the same script. 1/ THE "SCAN-TO-SPEND" TRAP If your account was closed, to get your own money, you must now pass a biometric ID check. No facial scan, no access. This isn't an option; it's a mandate. Everyone with an open account has already complied. Your financial existence is now tied to your biological identity. 2/ THE CENTRALIZED HEART: VNEID This is all funneled into the VNEID, a national digital ID run by the Ministry of Public Security. Banking, health records, personal documents—all linked into one single, centralized system. Sound familiar? It should. It’s the ultimate panopticon, sold to you as a convenience. 3/ THE LEGAL LOCK-IN Decree 69 in Vietnam forces businesses—and even foreigners—onto this platform. Old physical IDs expire mid-2025. The door is slamming shut now. There is no going back. And in a shocking twist, their national credit database has already been hacked. This is the fatal flaw: We are centralizing identity + finance, creating a system that is incredibly brittle. The potential fallout is catastrophic. Why make it easier for bad actors to steal everything at once? And why make it effortless for a state to flip the "access denied" switch on your life? 4/ THE AUSTRALIAN CONNECTION: IT'S ALREADY HERE This isn't a "foreign" problem. This is a test run for the same infrastructure being built right here. • The Digital ID Act • Osro's digital trust for tolling & live road pricing • E-safety mandates & age verification trials Different labels, identical patterns. The tracks are laid. The destination is control. 5/ THE ARCHITECTS OF CONTROL Who builds this? Data contractors like Palantir already run analytics for Western governments. While Vietnam hasn't named partners, the architecture is tailor-made for that level of surveillance. They spin it as "safety," but the equation is simple: once you accept scan to spend, control becomes policy. Your access to economic and social life becomes conditional. The condition? Compliance. Behave. Conform. Vietnam is showing us the playbook in real-time. Australia is already drafting its chapter. The question is no longer if this arrives, but how we respond. Will we comply? Or will we demand decentralized, user-owned alternatives before the digital walls close in for good?
