It may have David Booth's name on it, and the big money donors will have their suites and portions with their names adorned, but this was built by every single one of us fans who kept this program afloat through the worst times and refused to give up on this turnaround. We knew we could be a player in the sport and now we're going to show it. This has been a long time coming. The rebuild of Memorial should have been done over 30 years ago. Yet, I am glad it didn't because that would have meant we wouldn't be getting this gem that will open 43 and a half days from now. I want every fan who sat through those horrific days in the north bowl on those frigid aluminum bleachers in November while Nebraska ran through our defense like caster oil through a goose, and those scorching early September Saturdays when the bleachers turned into a griddle that left groove marks on your butt like grill marks on a steak while teams like UCLA walked over us like we weren't even there, and every other fan who suffered through the Les Miles, Bob Valesente, Turner Gill, David Beaty, Charlie Weis, and Terry Allen years... Every single one of us has a piece of this new stadium. We are responsible for still having a program to play in it. If it wasn't for us, there wouldn't be a new Booth and the old track would still be around what used to be a football field.
