August 9, 1999: Chris Jericho debuts, interrupts The Rock

Probably The Rock @ his best right here. This was the pinnacle.

I was there. Loudest pop in wrestling history.

Just look at the charisma Rock was on another level

I know I watched wrestling before this, but this is my first core wrestling memory. @IAmJericho is the 🐐

the biggest crowd reaction in WWE history

Aura

Vince absolutely tried to bury Jericho with this and it backfired.

Remember thinking when he came out with a pony tail that it was the corniest debut ever

This one of my favorite wrestlers and shows they ever did

greatest wwe debut ever, it’s not up for debate

27 years later this is arguably still the greatest debut and loudest pop ever! As soon as JERICHO came up on the screen, it was deafening even on TV

The Rock was the biggest thing in wrestling kids.

I dont give a damn HOW MUCH MONEY WWE MAKES NOW. There is NO MOTHERFUCKING WAY ITS BETTER THAN THIS!! PEAK!

What a damn pop

Second best debut of all time

Totally forgot that The Rock hit puberty at the finish of this promo.

Hell of a pop

Greatness from both 💥

One word... iconic.

Crazy he was only 26 here

Wwf was unmatched …

I remember this

@JamesLewis17

The best version of his theme

When rock was on top of his shit

Live from the Windy City ( Chicago il )

Great pause here…soaking in that crowds energy.
