The car was so cheap that the buyer wanted to explore more cars. Unfortunately, our containers to Nigeria are full at the moment. We must prepare ourselves for the fact that not all parts of a peace agreement will likely meet our sense of justice. However, we will do everything we can to ensure that Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity are preserved. Ukraine is part of a free and democratic Europe now and in the future. We will continue to support Ukraine. We will not tire. We will seek a solution. Today we are leaving for North Bengal. I will be staying there for two days to see rescue and restoration works there. My Chief Secretary is accompanying me, DG of Police has already gone there. Police and administration have been doing rescue and restoration operations in all affected areas. Community kitchens have been opened, distressed people are being given all-out support. Tourists are being safely evacuated and where hotel accommodation is to be arranged, that will be done at our cost. North Bengal State Transport Corporation and our other transport organisations are mobilizing streams of special Volvo and long-distance buses for evacuating the stranded tourists. While death cannot be compensated, we shall give Rs 5 lakh to the families of each deceased, and a Special Homeguard' s job to a kin in each such family as a special gesture. I shall visit some areas in North Bengal today and tomorrow, and our administration will reach out all humanitarian help to all those affected by the flood in each place. If the Central Government did its job of dredging of the Ganga-Hugli river at several critical points, and if DVC did its desiltation works which it is not wilfully doing, if their dams and barrages were not so used in this manner against us, and if central government money was spent for the necessary public works in Bengal rather than squandering funds away in other unrelated pursuits, our people would have been spared of the man- made flood that we are facing in large tracts of North and South Bengal in this season. Our own Irrigation works and check dams etc have been useful in arresting the damages in many areas. We are there, always, every moment. Today, I hosted the first meeting of a special panel on child safety online. For decades, we have made the real world safer for children and we must do the same in the digital world. The positive opportunities that technology offers cannot come at the cost of their safety, health or happiness. In Europe, tech platforms already have a responsibility to ensure the safety of users. But we must also do more to protect and empower our young people online. This is the aim of the special panel. We will work intensely with experts and stakeholders, including our youth, to forge a strong and realistic European approach to keep our children safe in the digital age. By the summer, the special panel will publish its recommendations for further action.

I had a good meeting with the Prime Minister of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen Statsministeriet. We discussed the continuation of military support and direct investments in Ukraine’s defense industry. Denmark is one of the leaders in supporting our state and is preparing the 26th package of military aid for Ukraine. This support helps save lives, and we deeply appreciate it. We also talked about the negotiations in Istanbul and the coordination of diplomatic efforts with the U.S. and European partners. We share the view that pressure on Russia is crucial if they refuse to agree to a ceasefire. In July this year, Denmark will begin its Presidency of the EU Council. We are counting on their support for Ukraine’s European integration, which we discussed during the meeting. I thank the Government and all the people of Denmark for every form of assistance to our state and for their unwavering support of our people.

Belgium significantly helped us at the time in strengthening our combat aviation, and we appreciate its readiness to continue supporting us. I hope that we will be able to implement what we discussed, and that there will be greater protection against Russian strikes. Ukraine is also ready to share our experience and expertise and support partners who have stood with us since the beginning of the war. Our teams are now working on the text of the Drone Deal, and we discussed potential dates for signing it. I thank the Government and people of Belgium for more than €1.1 billion in support already allocated this year, for backing our path toward EU membership, and for their full solidarity with Ukraine.

We appreciate Germany’s leadership on this issue. We also spoke separately about our joint efforts with partners to end the war, establish a dignified peace, and guarantee security.
