We call ourselves a secular country but actually we are not one, because most of the Hindu Temples are in the hands of the government, run by government clerks, and being systematically ruined. There is no Sanctity to a Temple without the hands of Devotees upon them. One of the most important priorities of the new government should be to hand over the administration of Hindu Temples to the Hindus. On Friday 22nd Dec. at 8:30 PM an intruder entered and vandalized the temple - using a metal barricade pole he smashed items around the alter. 911 was called and Waterloo Regional Police arrested the attacker. It’s deeply concerning that police did not make an official statement to condemn this hate crime or inform the temple of the name of the attacker or investigation. Will police prosecute this incident as a hate crime?
