.Firefly Aerospace is preparing to launch a lunar lander to the far side of the Moon, and there is a significant monetization opportunity there, says CEO Jason Kim. “We’ll be able to sell that data commercially just like we did on Blue Ghost Mission one over five years, and it’s gonna help NASA scientists understand the physical futures of the moon. Commercial companies can buy the data so that they can survey where the best place is to mine for minerals.” Kim also points to rising demand for future moon bases, where the same data becomes critical for deciding where to build and how to operate.

From the 1770s when we broke from Great Britain, the 1860s in the battle to end slavery, the 1930s and 40s with the collapse of our economic system and the war against fascism. At every one of these moments, the Americans that stepped up fundamentally understood that the world they needed to build could not be the world they had come from. That to protect the rights of their children, they needed to give them new rights, new freedoms. We are in one of those moments of crisis. Nobody wants to live in interesting times, but we do. Nobody wants to be asked to do the hard work, but we will be asked. And we must rise to the occasion. But as we do, we must understand this is not just about going back to what we had. This is about building something new.

Today, I was the lone no vote on increasing the fuel revenue indexing tax. Several people talked about how they’ve generated one billion dollars in revenue from this tax. They’ve made that money off the backs of hard-working people in Clark County who are buying gas who have to get to work - they are paying a tax. That’s where the one billion dollars came from. Now they want to extend it for another ten years. But unlike in 2016 when it was passed on the ballot, now they want to do so without a vote of the people. Yes, we need roads and we need people put to work, but it should have been done the correct way — by a vote of the people.
