Well, guess the stop sign was just a suggestion, and third base is now a literal third‑base hit.

Flashing back to last year when Braves' Acuna threw a long strike to get a Yankee runner at 3rd. The 3rd Base coach never signaled him to slide, so he just went into base upright and was tagged out (after nice Fake by 3B). Don't know if this is same coach - not his fault today.

Completely acceptable when compared to the stupidity of the Red Sox listening to analytics and pulling starters early.
