Rural Aussies are mostly like rural folks in the US. Guns, beer, red meat, pickup trucks, shennanagins in the woods/bush. They are stuck just like blue state rural folks. Their lives are dictated by pseudo intellectual urbanites who view them as lower caste and frankly, dumb.
