UPDATE: The Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey , has met with developers of the Koforidua China Mall project to assess progress on drainage works that prompted the suspension of construction at the site. During the meeting, both parties agreed that work on the main culvert and drainage infrastructure will begin on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, following approval of the drainage design plans. The Minister reiterated that construction of the mall will remain on hold until all drainage-related concerns have been adequately resolved. She further indicated that the public will soon be updated on traffic management arrangements, including any road diversions that may be necessary to facilitate the construction works.

Three people were killed and four others injured in a shooting at a Seattle food festival. One suspect has been arrested, and authorities say the incident may have involved a shootout. Two firearms were recovered at the scene. All 4 victims are in a stable condition. Police have not yet released the identity of the suspect in custody.
