Modern trannys are built to be driven without idling in N. Without concern or damage - oil circulates normally through a cooler. Your advice is from 30+ years ago.

Putting transmission in N when at a traffic light is BS. This will kill your transmission. Because when the light hits green you move selector to D but there’s no oil pressure in the transmission parts aren’t filled with oil. This is crucial
