Tenzin and Tonraq lied to Korra to why they isolated her on a compound for the most of her life and Unalaq told her the truth when they didn’t. This caused her to not trust them and Unalaq used this situation to manipulate Korra and further his own agenda Korra is the Avatar, they shouldn’t have kept this a secret to her since she have to know who she might face in the future Unalaq manipulated her, giving her the news that spirits have been attacking people, giving her the meaning of their tribes’ traditions with the spirits, understanding that Korra was weak in her spiritual side and offered her help. Korra needed help and didn’t know how to deal with the spirits until Unalaq showed her how to deal with one while Tenzin and Tonraq couldn’t
