Here’s a first look at the new FXRP direct minting flow. The idea is simple: Register a destination tag, map it to your Flare address, send XRP on XRPL with that tag, and let the executor prove the payment on Flare. If valid, FXRP is minted to your address. No agent selection. No collateral reservation step. No need to rebuild a memo every time. Just a cleaner path from XRP into XRPFi. ☀️

Minting FXRP with FAssets v1.3 is now much simpler: instead of choosing an agent and reserving collateral first, users can send a labelled XRP payment on XRPL and have FXRP minted to the right Flare/Songbird address. The new destination tag feature is a key unlock: a tag can be reserved and mapped to a minting recipient, so when XRP is sent with that tag, the system knows where to route the FXRP. This makes FXRP minting much closer to the deposit flows wallets, exchanges, and custodians already use.

For those individuals that still struggle to see why XRP is not being used currently at high volumes, this should open your eyes. USD is still the REGULATED WAY BANKS USE A BRIDGE CURRENCY. When BIS Prudential treatment of crypto assets reduces the RISK WEIGHT from 1250% to hold unbacked assets like Bitcoin, XRP, ETH, etc.. then, and only then BANKS WILL USE XRP for liquidity. The way the FX functions presently is GBP to USD (Bridge currency) to PESO. When crypto can be used, the flow will change to GBP to XRP (Bridge currency) to Peso You MUST understand how XRP enables RLUSD. RLUSD does not diminish XRP’s use. Navin Gupta explains the usecase for CBDC and currency FX.
