Mutant Aliens (2001), directed by animation icon Bill Plympton, is a hand-drawn sci-fi satire packed with surreal humor and grotesque body-morphing visuals. Created almost entirely by Plympton himself, the film follows an astronaut stranded in space who returns to Earth with an army of bizarre mutants. 🚀👽 A cult classic of indie animation, it showcases Plympton’s signature scratchy linework, dark comedy, and DIY filmmaking style. 🎬✨

Martin McDonagh won the Oscar for Best Live Action Short for his 2004 short film Six Shooter, featuring Brendan Gleeson. The entire short is available on YouTube & I implore anyone who hasn’t seen it to give it a shot. The story is a dark-comedy that follows Gleeson as a grieving widower down a journey of grief and loss. I strongly recommend.
