I felt on the upper weekend, the team have done a really amazing job just to really refining the car and for us to be up there battling… and also to have a good battle with Max as well, you know, finally. I’m really, really grateful. And yeah… just so happy. I love this job! It’s the greatest job in the world and I’ll never take it for granted.”

#AusGP 🇦🇺 | Lewis Hamilton post qualifying: “Yeah, it was not the best qualifying but I felt solid all weekend, been really really happy in the car and feeling super motivated.” “Up until the end of Q1 on the medium tyre was feeling great, I was third or fourth with just the medium tyre so, a bit solid. And then we got into Q2 we had some problems with the engine and deployment and then it kind of threw a bunch of spanners in the mix and we really struggled to execute and get the best out of it .” “So I think, if things hadn’t been an issue, we probably could’ve been fighting for a 3rd or 4th. It was good to get out and kind of see (…) get some running and understand the tyres, we did the C2 and the C1. I think we had a few problems through qualifying, which meant that I was further back than I should have been." Rachel Brookes speaking about the moment she told Lewis Hamilton that she is leaving the paddock. "Obviously I left Sky. I have left Sky. And it appeared very sudden." "It did. It did." "But it wasn't. I had a chance to say goodbye to people in the paddock, to people I've worked with, teams, drivers. And I actually had a chance to say goodbye to Lewis, and I had a lovely chat with Lewis, and got some time with Lewis to have a conversation. And he was, as you would imagine, really, really lovely, very supportive. Won't divulge everything that was said. But it was caught by some photographers. There's a lovely photo at the end of it, he gives me a massive hug, and he says, 'I hope I see you back in the paddock soon.' He was really lovely"
