#b3d Can we get the dev group some help with #UX #UI ? These hierarchical menus are so difficult to use on so many levels:

We did some fixes to that with Bforartists in the latest release.

God, I feel that pain too. I don't like the argument that they'll add more GN modifiers in the future cuz there are differences with how those work vs. normal modifiers, so I'd rather have them be separate menus. Ended up just writing my own addon to do that lmao.😅

This thing is better than previously, you just are adjusted to what it was previously. Plus, if you know the name what do you want to add, just start typing.

Did you even read the link I posted? There is professional tests and proof that say hunting for features in hierarchical menus is less effective, and less fast. Forcing users to remember keystrokes is not an answer.

Old menu was a wall of text and hard to read. New menu is better than the old one, it is also better than max modifier menu where you have a long flat list.

Did you read the link I posted?

In the study you link the users are forced to go through the menus. In the implementation in blender you can choose to search through the menus OR you can start typing immediately after pressing when you know what you want out. Generally speeding up instead of slowing if you know roughly the name of what you are looking for.

None of those alternatives compare to the "my favorite modifiers" addon solution, it simply adds the modifier button on the top so you just click it and forget about menus. Give it a try it's on GitHub for free

Well, I just love it. I just need to type the first letters of the modifier I need (which is faster than looking for the name) and that's it. I work faster now.

It might be bad if you have no clue what your are looking for… simply type the first letters if you know what you want and boom. It’s faster and the fact this list is becoming huge won’t be a problem like it already was awkward previously. It’s just because nobody likes changes.
