55 is technical precision and prowess, 81 is poetry and learning you can take time to savor it. Both are amazing but if I had to pick one it would be the 81

I only discovered GG seriously at his death. The snob host on public radio sneered but grudgingly played the ‘81 Goldbergs. I then listened to them about 5x/week for the next 10 years.

The entire work is in 32 movements, with the opening aria starting and ending the piece - you know the aria because you saw Anthony Hopkins listen to it after murdering some police officers in Silence of the Lambs. This variation can encourage you to listen to the entire work, which I will link in the next post.
