It wasn’t mentioned in the video, but I also really enjoyed Jon Krakauer’s book on Pat Tillman (Krakauer is one of my favourite writers)

Yes highly recommend. I thought I knew a fair bit about that period in German history but still learned a lot. It’s not too dry either, very readable and incredible source material
