A pilot landed a plane in the ocean near a Florida beach and survived Faith Tankley was flying from Fort Myers to the Bahamas when, about 27 km from shore, the right engine failed, followed by a landing gear malfunction. She decided not to try to reach an airport — with a full tank of fuel, a hard landing could have caused a fire. Tankley turned the plane toward the ocean, avoided people and buildings, and managed to land it on the water. The plane suffered almost no damage, and the pilot got out of it without assistance.

EXCLUSIVE from Good Morning America/ABC News -- A first look inside the second batch of so-called "UFO files." More than 50 videos and other documents. Here's what we found -- - Never before seen video from 2024. The Coast Guard picking up this object as it flew near a plane over the Southeastern US, the Pentagon says - Video taken by the US military over Syria in 2021, following an unidentified object before it suddenly speeds off. The service member who submitted the video labeled it “instant acceleration.” - A video from 2020, taken in an undisclosed area under US Central Command. It appears to show a sphere flying over a population center. The military, getting a closer look before it eventually flew higher, off into the sky. After multiple investigations the government has found no evidence any of these incidents are of an extraterrestrial nature, but military officials admit many incidents in the files remain “unresolved” and cannot be explained.

Thursday, January 15, 2026, 1:40PM: Just like clockwork the latest 0Z EU1 early preliminaries show that the powerful elongated Pacific jet extension will intensify greatly after January 24 and looks to aim directly at California, especially for Southern California by January 25 - February 8, 2026, This seems to be the best time frame for favorability. They’re is also now a re-emergence of the main Marshall Islands robust low axis approximately 345 miles due west seems to be developing in the central Pacific due to ongoing warming of the Pacific Ocean Basin very interesting times we are in currently. I'm monitoring all these ever-changing developments carefully and thoroughly in the next 72 to 96 hours. Currently, we’re experiencing almost record-breaking temperatures in Southern California where it was 85° on January 14, 2026 almost similar weather occurred back on December 10, 2025, where it was 87° in downtown Los Angeles this is the next loading phase of the storms. #CAwx

ALERT: Man who was rescued from a plane crash last week off the coast of Florida is accused of smuggling cocaine. Jonathan Gardiner and 11 others were rescued on May 14th when their plane crashed about 80 miles off the coast of Florida, while flying from the Bahamian island of Great Abaco to Grand Bahama International Airport. The Air Force was flying in the general area for a training mission and saw an emergency beacon launch from the men stranded on a yellow life raft. According to a federal complaint, Gardiner had 3 phones and a cross-body bag that had $30,000 in Bahamian currency. The complaint said the money was marked with the name of a Bahamian politician who was allegedly connected to a planned shipment of 900 to 1,000 kilograms of cocaine from Colombia in November 2024. Gardiner was previously deported back to the Bahamas in 2014 after spending about 18 years in prison for federal narcotics and money laundering offenses. Gardiner is being charged with cocaine importation conspiracy.

Scientists at University of Western Australia set new record for deepest fish ever filmed at a depth of 8,336 meters. During an expedition that took place in August 2022, the research vessel DSSV Pressure Drop embarked on a two-month journey to investigate trenches in the Pacific Ocean near Japan. The primary objective of the expedition was to examine the populations of deep-sea fish. While conducting filming activities, the research team unexpectedly encountered a previously unknown species of snailfish at an astounding depth of 8,336 meters, equivalent to over 27,000 feet, specifically in the Izu-Ogasawara Trench. At a depth of 8,022 meters, scientists successfully obtained two fish from traps. This achievement is noteworthy because it includes the capture of a snailfish species known as Pseudoliparis belyaevi. Notably, this is the first time a fish has been collected from depths exceeding 8,000 meters, as these snailfish were previously observed solely at a shallower depth of 7,703 meters.

Footage emerging showing the remains of a an unidentified air-to-ground munition employed by the Ukrainian Air Force for strikes in Russia-controlled city of Donetsk on Wednesday afternoon. Among debris seen in the clips are fragments of folded winglets that are usually employed in glide bombs/jet-powered stand-off weapons. This design doesn't resemble the one used in Storm Shadow/SCALP-EG, while Donetsk is estimated to be out of range for the safe launch of US-made GBU-62 JDAM-ER and GBU-39/B precision-guided glide bombs (+80km). One of the potential candidates is a munition from the American Extended-Range Attack Missile (ERAM) programme. In August 2025, U.S. State Department approved a potential Foreign Military Sale of up to 3,350 ERAM missiles to Ukraine. No actual photos of an intact ERAM munition has emerged as of yet. Another possibility is a US-made AGM-158 JASSM air-launched cruise missile. In August 2024, Reuters reported that the United States was close to supplying Kyiv with these munitions, although their delivery was never confirmed.

A tiny Pentagon office had spent months investigating conspiracy theories about secret Washington UFO programs when it uncovered a shocking truth: At least one of those theories had been fueled by the Pentagon itself. In the 1980s, an Air Force colonel visited a bar near Area 51, a top-secret site in the Nevada desert. He gave the owner photos of what might be flying saucers. The photos went up on the walls, and into the local lore went the idea that the U.S. military was secretly testing recovered alien technology. But the colonel was on a mission—of disinformation. The photos were doctored, the now-retired officer confessed to the investigators. The whole exercise was a ruse to protect real government secrets. This episode, reported now for the first time, was just one of a series of discoveries the Pentagon team made as it investigated decades of claims that Washington was hiding what it knew about extraterrestrial life. In fact, a Wall Street Journal investigation reveals, the report itself amounted to a coverup—but not in the way the UFO conspiracy industry would have people believe. Read more:
