Back in December a union rail worker warned about the potential for a catastrophic train derailment. Then, a week ago, it happened in Ohio. It's time to listen to the workers.

This was done by our excellent collaborator @heyjohnrussell, and you can find it and much more on our TikTok!

And if you'd rather get your info in a thread than a video, we did that too.

Deregulation and corporate cost-cutting measures together fail to protect workers, local communities, RR equipment, and the environment. That's what causes these tragic disasters. Unfortunately, the blame will probably be placed on a few unlucky workers.

I would add "they're" not going to pay for the disaster, taxpayers will pay for it.

They warned everyone, they really tried. When congress prevented the strike they triggered a domino effect of events that may have played a role in this environmental disaster that will have a lasting impact on Palestine Ohio and the surrounding areas for years to come.

September last year we spoke with Norfolk Southern and CSX rail veteran Joey Cobb and his warning about the use of the PSR system by rail executives was dire back then as well.

They're not paying the price let's be honest they'll get away scott free and the people are getting shafted

oligarchy, government by the few, especially despotic power exercised by a small and privileged group for corrupt or selfish purposes. Oligarchies in which members of the ruling group are wealthy or exercise their power through their wealth are known as plutocracies.

I am all the way in Germany and this derailment is making me SICK. These fucking assholes in the White House and Congress should be marched to those rivers and made to BATHE in those fucking waters.

@BenjaminPDixon One of the disastrous ideas plaguing our nation is the notion that decisions are always made from the top down, when it is the guys in the trenches who know what’s really going on.
