Well, that was an extra energetic dust devil like a tornado's oldest child.

They would have called a balk on the pitcher if he stepped off the mound.

We had a dust devil like that blow across our softball beer league field once during a weekend tournament. They made us sign injury waivers before the game and they were under the umps water jug by the backstop when it hit. Was fun watching all that paper just go flying away into the sky.

This happened to me as well during a softball 25 years ago. Game only stopped long enough for the dirt devil to pass through and game on. In today’s world every player and person watching would be tweeting.

Yep. And start throwing stuff into the dust devil to see what it did. Baseball, bat, someone else's glove, a cup of water, a baseball hat... it turned into a science experiment of sorts.

Same If we stopped for every dust devil, games would take all day Hell, my schools rival is literally called the Dust Devils lol

@Annaisme9 Yeah, and our football coach had his own concussion protocol…break open an ammonia capsule and run it under your nose. If you woke up and knew your own name, you were ready to play!
