Back to the Future🔥 1985 #1 Iowa vs #2 Michigan

I was in that student scrum after the kick. What a day.

I was working the Press Box for the Blue Crew that day and during the 4th quarter was able to get to a viewing area on top of the Press Box. Coach Raveling and the BB team were also up there. When the kick went thru and Iowa won 12-10, obviously the place went wild, you could see and feel the Press Box swaying back and forth.

@Jrbacon50 1985, no cell phones, plus, technically I was working on the crew that kept the box and the field clean. The next day, we cleaned the locker rooms. Bo put white freezer paper on the walls to cover the pink walls. When we ripped it off the walls, it was chest deep.

@Jrbacon50 Yeah that butcher paper was classic, Harbaugh did it when he first arrived as a head coach at Kinnick as well.

I’ve got the satellite feed of the game on VHS. It’s awesome to hear Brent during commercials!

Thanks for posting. I was working to save $$ to go to Iowa the next year & only saw the highlights! It was nice to see the whole game. And the commercials! 😂 God our cars were crap back then with all of the ads for Maintenance and Repair! Hell, I can’t work on a car now!

Thank you for bringing back the memories. What a gritty, incredible game. Iowa pulls out the victory despite being robbed of a first half touchdown in the back of the end zone. Let's beat Michigan again on Saturday!

There's something about @ChuckLongIowa 7 straight backpedal drop back that gets me everytime! I was 10 years old laying in a hospital bed & watched this game. I remember going nuts on the game winning FG!

Was there rained right up until kickoff then no rain during the game was standing on my seat for the field goal!!
