With the recent launch of the Free Lanes update for Starfield, we got immersive interplanetary travel. Now, a new mod/creation brings more immersive intersystem travel. In a similar vein to Cruise Mode, “Grav Lanes” lets you move freely around your ship mid–grav jump. You can do everything you normally would onboard and actually experience the journey, complete with a light show outside your windows. Check out the video to see it in action. some people have pointed out that even AAA games don't show a death animation with a bottomless pit, which is fair enough. but what got me experimenting with this whole jump to pit thing was a jump earlier in the same area, where you have a fairly high tower but you can still see the ground. and if you make a jump to your death the game just abruptly teleports you back to a checkpoint, no body landing in the same rendered area. no ragdoll, no nothing. the game feels very undercooked. it needed at least one more year imo.
