Well said. It’s really that simple. Baleba fits the midfield profile United need far more than Alex Scott, especially after the signings of Santos and Tielemans. As for Scott, I think there’s been more hype around him than substance in this conversation. For me, Baleba is the better fit.

Baleba has the physicality and defensive qualities United have been missing. He would be my first choice.

I honestly do not rate Alex Scott as a Defensive Midfielder honestly. He is more of a hybrid and actually started his career as a 10. Baleba is a more stylistic fit for the club.

Baleba edges it for me at Old Trafford right now. 🇨🇲 He ticks those defensive boxes harder elite ball-winning, physical dominance, high-intensity pressing, and recovery pace that United’s midfield has desperately missed. Amorim’s system needs warriors who can shield the backline and transition fast. Baleba brings that “destroyer + carrier” profile with huge upside at 22. Alex Scott is class technically cleaner, excellent ball progressor, press-resistant, and more creative in tight spaces. He’s a modern No.8/10 hybrid with Premier League minutes under his belt. But he’s not quite as dominant defensively as Baleba, and United already have players who can do the “tidy” stuff (Mainoo, Ugarte, etc.).

I love Baleba but truth is he’s not consistent with his performance, we all saw how he dropped last season, we can’t gamble on him, we need someone with strong mentality to perform at the highest level so for me I did go for Scott if we are to choose btw both of them.

No to either at this point. Scott too similar to Mainoo and Santos. Baleba has a poor mentality. We need a proper defensive midfielder who has the height/physical attributes that Casemiro had. Nmecha or someone of that calibre is what we need.
