Baltimore is still one of the most violent big cities in America. On violent crime it sits around the top 5 nationally. Among cities over 500,000 it’s usually right behind Memphis and Detroit. Only 33% of Baltimore students are proficient in reading and only 13% in math. It’s not a surprise that a back-to-school giveaway in Baltimore turned into a MASSIVE brawl. The city looks like a jungle, tbh.

Baltimore Mayor Scott response on Trump: I think it's very notable that each and every one of the cities called out by the President has a black mayor, and most of those cities are seeing historic lows in violent crime. In Baltimore, we have the fewest amount of homicides through this date on record. That's 50 years, a 50 year low. Maybe we are too far gone. Too far gone from the broken right wing policies of zero tolerance policing and all the things that did not make our city safer for all those many years. The president could learn a lot from us. Instead of throwing things at us.

Edmonton is at the centre of Alberta’s opioid crisis. So far this year, 52% of the province’s opioid-related deaths have happened in our city. Addiction doesn’t happen in isolation. It contributes to visible disorder: public drug use, vandalism, crime, vacant properties, and growing pressure on public services. That’s why EPS is taking a new approach to create a Safer Edmonton for everyone.

A Baltimore landlord was sentenced today to 13 months in federal prison followed by 8 months in home confinement for bribing a corrupt Baltimore City finance worker with envelopes stuffed with cash to get rid of water and tax bills on his rental properties. He delivered the envelopes in the bathroom at the Wolman building next to City Hall. James Erny Junior lashed out before Judge Richard Bennett over how he could get no help to handle squatters--and claimed he had been overbilled on water at his rental properties in Baltimore. He called the city "The Wild West" during some tense moments at his sentencing hearing this afternoon. Erny apologized for his actions but said he was "desperate" to save his rentals from a tax sale. He said some became occupied with "squatters" and told the judge, "The city nearly killed me." Erny argued he should serve no jail time: "Being a landlord in this city is punishment enough." He'll have to pay almost half a million in restitution to Baltimore City and also to the federal government for a fraudulent covid-era PPP loan. Our city cannot shoulder this alone. The state of Missouri cannot shoulder this alone. We need partners at the federal level to step up and help. This is what the federal government is for. We saw a tremendous amount of damage — estimates suggest over $1 billion so far.

“Just Look At The Number Of Unoccupied Buildings In This Area Alone. The Number Of Vacant Buildings In Abuja Is Becoming Alarming. The Vacant And Unoccupied Houses Across Abuja Are Enough To Significantly Address The Housing Crisis In The City. Thousands Of Houses, Yet Millions Still Struggle To Find Affordable Accommodation. How Can There Be So Many Empty Homes And So Many People Looking For A Place To Live?.”

Rob Reiner’s The Princess Bride is an inseparable part of my childhood. We owned this on VHS. Watched it at the lake every summer. How could you not? I’m just seriously in absolute shock right now. We just lost a legend on so many fronts. Rest in power.

Hey Chris Murphy 🟧 Governors don’t run cities. Mayors do. St. Louis, Memphis, Baltimore, D.C. and Jackson, all Democrat run cities for decades, lead the nation in violent crime. Some haven’t had a Republican mayor in 50 years or more. Stop pretending this is about “red states.” It’s blue city leadership in every one of these cities. This is just another weak attempt to demonize Donald Trump.

Ron Baron on SpaceX’s Starlink in a new video: "It is the internet of the planet. We think in 10 years, that’s going to be a trillion dollar annual revenue business. 1 trillion in revenue will produce, we think roughly $700-800 billion in profits a year. The means, in 10 years, this company from Starlink alone will be worth somewhere around $14 trillion." Ron is the 🐐, since investing in SpaceX in 2017, Baron Capital has turned roughly $2 billion into a ~$25 billion position.

It’s crazy to me that Black people in America will call us “colonizers” like it’s a bad thing. These “villages” in Africa have been left completely alone, untouched by Whites for hundreds of years… and this is the best architecture they could come up with. Starting to think their claim “We built America!” Is also a lie, too.
