‼️ZELENSKYY: We will begin joint production with Norway of long-range 155mm artillery shells “Our soldiers at the front, in fact, in all combat brigades, talk about a long caliber of artillery, long-range artillery shells. Killzones are increasing. The use of drones of all types is a priority. But the soldiers themselves say: artillery is needed, and especially long-range artillery. So now we have a new and very strong agreement with Norway. We will begin joint production of long-range 155mm artillery shells — exactly the type of ammunition we need. I thank Norway for taking such a necessary step” - Ukrainian President on Sunday, May 10th.

❗️❗️❗️🇩🇪German defense giant Rheinmetall has begun delivering artillery ammunition to Ukraine directly from its Unterlüß facility in Lower Saxony for the first time, marking a significant milestone for the newly established Werk Niedersachsen plant. While Rheinmetall’s previous ammunition shipments to Ukraine were sourced from other production sites within its global network (such as Spain), this first direct delivery from Unterlüß introduces a critical new supply line. The shipment includes a low five-figure quantity of artillery shells, accompanied by propellant charges produced at other facilities. Ukraine has already received more than half of the ordered batch, with the remaining shells and charges scheduled for delivery by the end of 2026. Notably, this delivery features Rheinmetall's newest RH1412 155mm artillery projectiles. These state-of-the-art rounds are fully compatible with various NATO-standard 155mm artillery systems and are engineered to deliver extended firing range alongside high combat effectiveness on the battlefield.

🇺🇦 Ukraine will no longer purchase morally obsolete M107-type 155 mm artillery shells with a range of 18 km (including domestically produced ones) and will instead prioritize modern, extended-range ERFB (Extended Range Full Bore) 155 mm artillery shells with a range of 38 km. 🔻 The information is reported by Defence Express, citing statements from representatives of the Ukrainian company “Ukrainian Armored Vehicles”. The company itself is capable of producing up to 100,000 such 155 mm artillery shells per year using its own capacities. 🔻 In the photo: ERFB-type 155 mm artillery shell. This decision marks an important step in increasing the effectiveness of Ukrainian artillery by shifting focus to longer-range munitions. Domestic production at this scale will significantly enhance Ukraine’s ability to strike deeper into enemy positions while reducing logistical pressure.

A 30s comparison of two long charged shells setups. One is Artillery 3, Focus 3n, firing 2 shells at once for the small knockback. Other other is Focus 3 load shells 2 artillery 1. The focus 3 wins by a lot even if wastes some time repositioning. It also has a lot more range.

Ukrainian drone brigade commander Achilles: We found a way to saw open old, unusable 155mm cluster shells for double drone drops. A partner who'd donated those shells for artillery called me furious we'd repurposed them. Within a month, the whole army was doing it.

⚡️24,000 artillery shells cumulatively produced per month in the 🇺🇸United States Business Insider visited the US projectile factory in Scranton, Pennsylvania, to produce 155mm M795 artillery shells for 🇺🇦Ukraine at a factory price of $800 per round, and showed how they are made. The Scranton plant alone produces at least 11,000 shells a month - nearly half of the 24,000 combined monthly in the United States. "The 24,000 is nearly double what the states were producing before the full-scale Russian invasion," Insider reported.
