I’m diabolical. So let them build enough nest so you can run two wires on side and then have a good strong battery ready to attach the leads.

This makes me very sad. They only need that nest spot for a short time. Please stop! AND barn swallows are federally protected in the US under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918. This act prohibits intentionally disturbing their nests, eggs, or young.
