Barrett's Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave Quick Review

He never explained how the combat or gameplay was actually bad, he just says things. Thankfully this trash ass review isn't on Metacritic 😆 4/10 is for games that are fundamentally broken and have major gameplay issues.

Two takeaways. 1. Choosing who reviews the game is important. 2. Thank god kinda funny aren’t “journalists” who actually effect the games MC/OC score where the his horrid take could effect someone’s bonus.

I love Barrett but I genuinely don’t know what he enjoys. Everything is always this deep college thesis level explanation of why something isn’t good. Maybe it’s just wickedly high standards

I haven't played the game obviously but a 4/10 is actually insane. You guys gotta get people who actually like and play these games to review them or just don't review them.

Not even the worst Fire Emblem game is this low and this is the first low score I’ve seen of the game. Does Barrett have a history with this genre or franchise? His opinion of course but 4/10 is what I would give the Gollum game 😭

It's either rage bait or dude has a hate boner for strategy games. "An inch deep and a mile wide" is the exact opposite of what every other reviewer has been saying and against the ethos of Fire Emblem since the beginning.

Everyone’s entitled to their opinions, that’s fine. But I genuinely am curious what games he does like. I haven’t seen that many of his reviews on here, but I feel like the ones I have he’s hated the game in all of them. Which is just a bummer.

Really wish he would have just backed out of the review or just gave his thoughts w/ no score . He clearly didn’t like it and it’s not his type of game. I don’t like fallout but I’d never force myself to continue to play it and give it a bad score because it doesn’t vibe with me.

We gotta remember: The on the KF scale 4/10 is meh and 5/10 is mid. He didn’t like the game so he scored it less that a 5/10 ON THEIR OWN SCALE. If this were meta critic this rating would be closer to a 6.5-7/10

You can see in Tim’s face, how shocked he was at some of the stuff coming out of Barrett’s mouth. Clearly newer FE games just aren’t his bag and he probably shouldn’t have been on the review. A 4 in an ocean of 9s and 10s seems a pretty big outlier from the general consensus!

This tells more about him that the game

The wonders of reviews and individuals having different opinions. MORE PEOPLE NEED TO EXPLORE THE SCALE! NOT EVERYTHING NEEDS TO BE A 7-9

I think sometimes you just gotta admit that it’s not for you, then walk away. You don’t vibe with a type of game, that is totally normal. But to realize it’s not for you and then still try to review it is an interesting choice. Just comes across as cantankerous.

I don't even have to play the game to know how absurd it is to give it a 4. You need to find someone better to review a game like this.
