Over 1400 homers between the batter and that rookie outfielder who thought he might catch that ball

Wow look at a young and spry Albert Pujols with a nice vertical at the wall

39th home run and it was only June. lol

WHAT was Pujols doing at right field?

Darryl Kile died almost exactly one year later on June 22, 2002. Will never forget that as a young Cardinals fan.

@MNTwinsZealot, is that Jack Buck? Not even kidding that what made me recognize him (I think) is announcing the outcome of the play before it happens, ala 1991

Pretty crazy he just toe taps while all the homerun hitters today lift their front leg a foot in the air.

Pujols playing RF trying to rob it haha

Mike Shannon. Not happy.

Wow, almost a year to the day before Darryl Kile passed away (6.22.2002). Sad

that ball was gone the second it left the bat and pujols knew it too he just wanted the photo op

Pitch was halfway to the plate and the announcer was on the home run call.

Albert woulda caught that if the wall wasn’t there. I’m convinced.

Kile still catching strays.

JD Drew was playing right field. He was will the cardinal before he went to Atlanta.

The commentator had to specify “home run wise” to not seem Sus

'01年といえばボンズが73HRしたシーズン。僅か3年前に70HRのマグワイアの目の前で強烈な一打を見せつけた。両者とも薬物疑惑の目が向けられている。打たれたD・カイルは翌'02年に急逝、貴重なピッチングシーン。カイルが所属したHOUとSTLは57番を準欠番扱い。

Kile got one that game too

ALBERT! started off as an outfielder/ 3rd basement for us! I remember him as a rookie!

WHO is in right field?

I was at this game. I believe it was Bonds’ last home run before the All Star break.
