It featured a mix of new and popular hip music along with the more established "parent's" music coming from stars like Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra. Something isn’t adding up. We all know that even before all of this, Bianca and Dustin’s inner circle also included Mika and Will. When they bought the twinning bag, we later found out that aside from Dustin, Will was there too. Same with the steak night at Mika’s condo..rumors say Will was present as well. That’s why the two statements released feels jarring. The photos were clearly taken not just by Mika, but also by Will. Yet despite calling it a trip with friends.. no photos actually support that narrative. All that surfaced were selfies and POV shots.. If those photos came from private accounts, then the people who had access would’ve been their closest friends. I find it hard to believe that someone from that circle would casually throw them under the bus like that. =What’s more striking is that neither statement expressed hurt or betrayal over a trusted friend leaking the photos. Instead, both statements focused only on confirming that the photos were real, the trip happened, and that they are "friends." That makes me wonder..what if the photos were leaked deliberately? Not out of malice, but to finally end all the delusions? After all, as i said Dustbia has always been really close with Mika and Will. I played two matches for my interclub league this week (first competitive rounds in over a year!) and I have an observation/inquiry for Golf Twitter Mostly out of pure laziness but also for pace purposes, I’ve eliminated practice swings from my pre-shot routine in recent years during casual rounds (channeling my inner Ludvig if you will). Do I keep things consistent and just step up to the ball and hit it when I’m playing a round that actually counts? Or do I develop a competitive pre shot routine vs. a casual golf routine? I kept going back and forth between the two all day and it was a constant internal dilemma that probably hurt my performance. If anyone can relate and has any thoughts, plz let me know.

First time back at Babbo since Starr took over, last time I was here Mario Batali was still at the helm. Started with the Tagliatelle Tartufi with fresh Tuscan white truffles paired with the 2011 Barolo Renzo Seghesio, 'Ginestra.’ I’ve had Tagliatelle Tartufi at numerous high end Italian places in NYC, this was my least favorite, the best? Santi hands down. Babbo’s version seemed to still be swimming in Pasta Water, and not a lot of flavor. While the pasta was good not great, the Barolo exceeded my expectations. Followed with their 100 Layer Lasagne with parmigiano-reggiano crema, bolognese, Pugliese tomato marinara. Last time I had this was at Mario’s Del Posto. The portion at Babbo is family style for 4ppl, presentation is amazing. Was probably the only dish I remember loving at Del Posto, and was better here, by a ways! Paired tonight with the 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Mulinari, 'L'Aietta.’ Both the wine and Lasagna 10/10. Pure indulgence and flavor 💣! A must have. Currently my favorite lasagna in #NYC. Vibe and energy still very much as it was under Mario. I felt the service was better, friendlier, than prior, and food quality very similar maybe a little better than my prior visit. Fun place with a group, lots of energy and “vibe.” Overall, a better experience today than prior, and would come back with a larger group to explore more of the menu and their large list of Italian wines more fully. Didn’t hurt that the music tonight was all 80’s…

Candace will be doing an exposé on Erika Kirk’s past much like her “Becoming Brigitte” hit piece. I’m going to give her the same courtesy. At least there’s no glaring conflict of interest. It wont be pretty but there are a lot of lies that need debunking. I started doing a deep dive into her history a year ago. I still cannot see the bottom on her life’s shenanigans. It must be important to understanding who Candace is, if Candace believes it’s important to understanding who Erika is. Candace’s history is relevant because Candace herself says that it’s relevant. I find it really interesting Candy was a Young Steff groupie & tried to break into the hip-hop industry but failed. Something awful happened on that set. I don’t know what she did to get cut out of the video, all but .8 seconds. The artist hits her in the head while dancing & it looked intentional. Editing this in is a real insult. In a video on YouTube Candace tells us that an apology, from the boy who called her a racist name in high school, would have solved all of her problems and prevented her from making very destructive decisions, which led to her dropping out of college and starting a doxxing site called “social autopsy”. I imagine the embarrassment from this experience in the music industry was deeply scarring to her. Candace likely believes a young woman’s past is worthy of sifting through because her past is very checkered—going all the way back to high school. This video alone doesn’t prove as such but it does represent her abject hypocrisy and celebrity complex. It might explain why she latched onto Kanye and attacks celebrities. this is a tribute post to share the legacy of an artist whose work has changed my life and inspires me everyday, Jun Seba aka Nujabes. Born February 7, 1974, Nujabes was a music producer & DJ from Tokyo, Japan. He came from a family of music lovers and his father’s admiration for jazz served as an inspiration to Seba at a young age. He pursued his education at a Fine Arts school and the people in his life influenced him to explore the vast wonders of what music really is. In a 2003 interview with Sound & Recording Magazine, Seba said… “I started making tracks because I wanted to hear music that sampled the old soul and jazz I liked.” Nujabes in his early years discovered Hip-Hop and was enamored by the art of DJ-ing and breakdancing. Hip-Hop culture was being brought to life in the USA, but its influence seeped across the world and it started to gain popularity in Japan at the time as well. Seba went on to become a crucial figure in Japan’s underground Hip-Hop scene as a DJ, co-creating a label called ‘Hydeout Productions’. His love for music stemmed beyond just creating it. He had his own record store, which he spoke about in the aforementioned 2003 interview. “I recently started up a record store, Tribe, which I see as an extension of Hydeout Productions. Everything at the store is stuff I went and bought overseas myself, and my hope is for people to come in, listen to old records at their leisure, and hopefully feel inspired by those records to make good tracks themselves. That’s another thing I would like to cherish doing in the future—creating those sorts of encouraging environment” This was a genuine testament to the pure love Nujabes had for music and the community that is built as a result. This passion is what fueled the masterpieces we listen to today and it is the reason for him revolutionizing Hip-Hop production. With a fusion of traditional Japanese musical influences, everything he learned as a student of Hip-Hop, and his early love for Jazz music, Nujabes created a new soundscape which set the tone for this acclaimed show, but also epitomized his brilliance as a musician. At a recent Nujabes tribute performance, longtime collaborator and a friend of Nujabes, Fat Jon, said a few words about him… “Our friendship went beyond music. And so yeah, we had fun making music, but we had more fun just doing regular shit in life… Nujabes as a person, separated from the music, he was a cool person.” You can tell everyone that has worked with or around Nujabes has a deep, unwavering admiration for him as a musician, but also as a person and a friend. I don’t share these videos or this story often. At 5:45 PM on July 13, 2024 at the Butler Farm Show, my then 10-week pregnant wife and I spoke with President Donald J. Trump . He asked what I was noticing on the trail and about my work. I told him we were going to deliver him back to The White House. He commended me on my speech. We laughed. My wife teased me for doubting him. At 6:03PM, the President took the stage and stopped in front of us before taking the podium located 20 feet ahead. He turned to me, tilts his head, says “good job” as he points to the podium. My friends and family remind me I doubted the man watched us. At 6:11PM, bullets screamed past. The President went to the ground, facing us. Unarmed, all we could do was find the earth. I laid on my pregnant wife, praying to Christ. The shooter was 350 feet directly to our rear. However, a few decades later, it's evident that Punk wasn't a temporary fad and became a full-fledged genre. As a result, one could say that the true Godfathers were those outstanding groups in the first wave or generation of Punk. The artists in the first generation that I admired covered an extensive range of styles, ranging from pop, Rock, trash rock, and even progressive. In fact, you might only recognize many of the "Punk" songs by their sensibility (lyrics) or the group or artist's appearance. It was very much an attitude and fashion trend also. In the end, one could say that Punk wasn't just the latest thing but part of the natural process of the next generation of artists discovering Rock and Roll (and blowing past the usual gatekeepers that had developed in the previous generations). I will make a list of albums by artists I consider to be the true Godfathers of Punk, given that the genre continued on from their work. It goes without saying that there will be omissions that will convince Punk fans of my incompetence as a music critic and writer. I will cover those in no particular order and discuss one in this blog entry. Some of these albums now sound dated or overrated after a few decades, but those observations will be left out of the review. All of the albums that'll be mentioned deserve the respect given to works that were inspirations to the succeeding waves of musicians and listeners. One of the things he achieved was to make good Pop cool again. His first solo album was an extraordinary combination of Rock and recreations of old pop styles. One of the songs, "The Rollers Show," was very much a tribute to the notion that the younger generation discovers rock and roll hits in each generation, a thrill that you only really experience once before you get older Lyrically, he was quite different, as evidenced by one of his more eccentric songs, Marie Provost, which depicted the death of a once famous silent movie star, whose silent movie career was ruined once the "Talkies" came because of her New York accent. On the surface, it's black humor, but there is an undercurrent of sympathy and warmth, which is present in many of the best pop songs that involve a tragedy. As far as flat-out rockers, his song "Heart Of The City" rocks as hard as any Ramones cut. What can make a song sound like a hard rock isn't always the volume of the guitar(s) but the arrangement and mix. It's an album that doesn't sound dated, and it's well worth checking out.
