Bart Scott: "Everybody thinks I retired because of my toe. I had reconstructive surgery on my toe when I left. But really it was because I started seeing spots and lights... I didn't know what to do. I was like, you know what? It's time to fold it up."

Not one person ever thought to themselves the reason why Bart Scott retired

This is BY FAR the most articulate Bart Scott has ever been. Good for him.

He followed this up with a remark about former players' suicides. Tough, but honest, stuff. Occasionally these talking head shows reveal a genuine human moment like these.

I have a ton of respect for Bart Scott being so open and discussing this as it is extremely serious. Touched heavily on the mental health side of the athletes post career. Very appreciated.

Bart Scott's an outstanding listen every single time. Unless he's talking baseball. But every other time he's insightful and hysterical.

Explains his analysis Jk that’s mean

Bro said “in this intimate setting”, this is not intimate at all you are on tv

Oh that explains his awful takes.

leave it to bart scott to make it about himself. were u in the prime of ur career buddy? This situation is way different and Tua has had multiple significant concussions where he was seizing.

Hopefully Tua takes these tough conversations to heart. Remove the money, you’re still on top of the world when you can play the game of football. Especially at the top level, living dreams. Hard to give up. But like Kuechly, nothing’s more important than your quality of life.
