Residents accuse police of inaction as housebreaking syndicate operates openly in Mbombela Residents in Mbombela, Nelspruit have raised serious concerns over what they describe as continued police inaction against a group of criminals allegedly responsible for a spate of housebreakings across several neighbourhoods. According to community members, the suspects have been going from house to house, breaking in and stealing valuables, while openly bragging that they will not be arrested because of alleged connections within the police. Residents claim that the identities of the suspects and the areas where they reside are known to investigators, yet no arrests have been made. Frustration is mounting as victims say they have opened multiple cases, only to see little progress in the investigations. Some residents fear that the lack of visible police action is emboldening the criminals, who continue to operate with apparent confidence and impunity. Community leaders are now calling for urgent intervention by senior police management and oversight structures, urging authorities to act decisively, restore public trust and ensure that the law is applied equally, regardless of who the suspects may be connected to. Police in Mpumalanga had not responded to requests for comment at the time of publication.

Yesterday World Health Organization (WHO) delivered its first medical shipment into #Gaza since 2 March - 9 trucks carrying essential medical supplies, 2000 units of blood, and 1500 units of plasma. The supplies were transported from Kerem Shalom, without any looting incident, despite the high-risk conditions along the route. These supplies will be distributed to priority hospitals in the coming days. The blood and plasma were delivered to Nasser Medical Complex’s cold storage facility for onward distribution to hospitals facing critical shortages, amid a growing influx of injuries, many linked to incidents at food distribution sites. Four WHO trucks are still at Kerem Shalom and more are en route to Gaza. WHO thanks the Ministry of Health and United Nations for its support. However, these medical supplies are only a drop in the ocean. Aid at scale is essential to save lives. WHO calls for the immediate, unimpeded and sustained delivery of health aid into Gaza through all possible routes.

🚛 Starting from last week (Monday), 230+ humanitarian aid trucks containing food, water, medical supplies and shelter equipment from Jordan and the international community, were transferred to northern Gaza via the Allenby Bridge and Port of Ashdod to the 'Erez West' Crossing managed by the Land Crossings Authority of the Ministry of Defense . All aid was transferred following thorough security checks. The IDF, via COGAT , will continue to act in accordance with international law to facilitate humanitarian aid into Gaza.
