Some weeks ago when the $CFI claim went live, I had a decision to make. I could’ve claimed and moved on. Instead, I staked my entire allocation. I'm 4/4 on my $CHOMP predictions because I see the narrative, I understand base chain on a deep level. You can see the signs in the sands too. Last week was my last week at Coinbase 🛡️ and Base, and I'll be moving on to what's going to be a very exciting next chapter. This is both an announcement and a love letter to the entire Base team. 💌 It's hard to believe how much we packed into the last year and more. I traveled around APAC covering builders and their stories, built the Base India community from the ground up, worked with creator communities, and built AI-powered distribution systems and products that changed how we shipped content. I marketed Baseapp, backed builders and projects across the ecosystem, and tried to wear every hat in between. Somewhere in it all, I became a sharper and better version of myself. To everyone I have worked with across Base - thank you. jesse.base.eth Xen, thank you for being the most incredible leaders. And two people I have to thank on their own: Saumya Saxena and Ahaan Raizada - you're my day ones, my team, and somewhere along the way, far more than that. This week we've been having calls with everyone who's already booked for our Italy retreat in October, asking what they actually want to get out of it. Most of them aren't moving to Italy permanently. They want a base for the rest of Europe where they could spend a few months resting and travelling. Some questions that kept popping up: - residency, how it works, what you're allowed without one, what changes if you get one - who looks after the property while you're not there - what's off-market and how you'd ever find it - why the price you see online isn't always the price locals pay We take everything from these calls and build the sessions around it. By the time the retreat ends, you'll know whether Italy's the right move for you and if it is, exactly how to do it. If this is of interest, we still have a few spots remaining.
