It is rumored that Bashar is emotional and upset with Erdogan, so he was waiting for him to go and wanted to make peace with the next president. Assad and Erdogan were close, they even went on family vacations together and Bashar never forgave Erdogan that he turned on him that much. ‼️ Now … whenever you want to blame Assad or not, likely he could have averted the current escalation by meeting Erdogan and working on a peace plan, with a slow withdrawal of Turkey from Syria.
