This is how every woman who chooses to be a housewife should be treated. A man may be the one earning the money, but his wife should still have authority and an equal say in major financial and household decisions. A housewife also deserves to feel financially independent, and it should be the husband's responsibility to make her feel that way. She should never feel like her role is limited to the kitchen and household chores. Instead, she should feel that she has real authority and that she is an important pillar of the family. I feel like to understand both characters better people should read the novel. How they both feel something for each other already, but Queen just can’t express that properly cuz she wasn’t thought to be like that, she just want to appear to be strong and independent - like her mother. And Bo can’t accept the fact that someone like Queen can love her and she can love her back, cuz even her own mother couldn’t give her that.
