Why I Choose Not to Be Vice President – Rotimi Amaechi Former Minister of Transportation and ex–Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, has ruled out, in unequivocal terms, any possibility of serving as Vice President to anyone, laying out personal, political and structural reasons for his position.Amaechi made the clarification on Sunday in Abuja during The Uncensored Hangout, hosted by the CLARM and RAPAG. Asked directly whether he would consider a vice-presidential slot, Amaechi refused to dodge the question.“My wife said I should dodge the question. I won’t dodge it,” he said. “I will not be vice president to anybody. There are too many reasons why I won’t be vice president to anybody. The first reason is that I’m too presidential to be vice.”For Amaechi, the problem with the office of Vice President is not ceremonial, it is structural. In his view, the Nigerian vice presidency is designed to be subordinate, often powerless, and dependent entirely on the temperament of the president.“We will quarrel," he said, “instead of that, I would rather be a minister than be a vice president.”He explained that his rejection of the role is rooted in his own experience as a governor and how he ran government with his deputy. According to Amaechi, power-sharing must be deliberate and institutional, not dependent on goodwill.“Unless I see a president that will do what I did to my deputy. We ran a joint office. Every morning he reported to my office, we sit in my office, and we ran the government together. He closes at 4 p.m., I continue till 8, I go home.”Anything short of that, he argued, turns the Vice President into a political spare tyre, present but ineffective. “That’s the first reason,” he said. The second reason Amaechi gave was political credibility, particularly with the South. He recalled his stance in 2015, when he openly argued that it was the North’s turn to produce the president and that it would be wrong for the South to take power at that time.“In 2015, my argument to the South was that it was the turn of the North. It would be wrong for the South to take power from the North because it’s their turn,” he said.Amaechi insisted that having taken that position publicly, it would be intellectually dishonest for him to now turn around and ask the South to accept a vice-presidential role while power returns to the North.“So what can I tell the South now? Maybe we’re not qualified to be President? Let’s go back to the North? It’s the turn of the North? No, I won’t. It will be difficult for me to go and sell that idea.”While he was quick to add that he personally does not believe in zoning, Amaechi acknowledged the political reality that arguments made in the past bind future credibility.“Trust me, I don’t care about zoning. I don’t care,” he said. Amaechi then veered into a broader critique of Nigeria’s political culture and voter behaviour. He revisited his warnings during the last election cycle, insisting that the hardship Nigerians are currently experiencing did not come as a surprise to him.“I told Nigerians that if you voted for President Tinubu, you will suffer,” he said bluntly.According to Amaechi, politics in Nigeria is predictable, driven by interests rather than sentiment. Those who are surprised by the outcomes of elections and governance, he argued, either refused to listen or chose denial. Amaechi did not absolve the electorate of blame. He argued that citizens must take responsibility for the outcomes they enable, particularly when they fail to protect their votes.

THIS IS HOW 2ND DISTRICT OF BATANGAS REPRESENTATIVE ATTY. GERVILLE “JINKY BITRICS” LUISTRO HIT THE MARK WITH A HAMMER WITH INVESTIGATIVE LINE OF QUESTIONING AND A PLOT TWIST AS THE FINAL NAIL TO HIT HER HAMMER WITH Cong. Luistro is a gift that keeps on giving. LENI AS PRELUDE FOR THE BUILDUP THAT ONLY THE LIKES OF CONG LUISTRO IS ABLE TO PULL OFF. In a recent congressional hearing of the House of Representatives of the Philippines Committee of Good Government and Public, Representative Jinky Luistro sought clarity on the use of confidential funds by previous vice presidents. Kelvin Gerome Teñido, former Chief Administrative Officer of the Office of the Vice President (OVP), confirmed that Vice President Leni Robredo did not utilize such funds during her tenure, while Vice President Jejomar Binay accessed them only once. Teñido also noted that career officials at the OVP lacked experience in managing confidential funds prior to Vice President Sara Duterte’s administration. CONG. LUISTRO IS ON TO SOMETHING. BUCKLE UP. Cong. Luistro further inquired about Undersecretary Zuleika Lopez, the current OVP Chief of Staff, revealing her previous role as Davao City Administrator. This connection is significant, as Davao City reported over ₱2.6 billion in confidential expenses from 2016 to 2022. WAIT LANG, DOES THIS MEAN CONFIDENTIAL HAVE A DAVAO TEMPLATE? This was another ‘aha moment’ for those who vividly remember Congresswoman Luistro presenting an infographic of Davao City, highlighting the substantial allocation of Confidential Funds. THE MONEY SHOT FEAT. THE SAME CAST OF DUBIOUS CAST OF CHARACTERS BUT A WHOLE DIFFERENT BALLGAME. Congresswoman Luistro’s probing underscores the need for rigorous oversight within the House of Representatives of the Philippines and the necessity of crafting new laws to ensure a more stringent and accountable use of Confidential Funds, preventing misuse by erring public officials. Her presence in this hearing stands as a powerful reminder to public officials of their duty to uphold the public trust—a reminder especially relevant amidst concerns over VP Sara and OVP officials who have hesitated to take an oath before an HOR panel. #LargaLuistro2025

For the first time in its 124-year history, five sitting justices of the #SupremeCourtPH visited the island province of Sulu on Thursday, September 4, to formally mark the start of the construction of its hall of justice. Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo led the SC delegation. He was joined by Senior Associate Justice Marvic M.V.F. Leonen and SC Associate Justices Jhosep Lopez, Japar Dimaampao, and Jose Midas Marquez. They were welcomed by Governor Abdusakur Tan II, Vice Governor Abdusakur Tan, Sulu 1st District Rep. Samier Tan, and Kusug Tausug Party-list Rep. Aiman Tan, who all commended the justices for making the first-ever trip of any sitting justice to Sulu. The trip, they said, brings hope to their children and grandchildren as it signifies that there is justice in one of the farthest areas of the country. In his message, Chief Justice Gesmundo stressed that the HOJ’s construction builds not only a physical structure, but also a more just, more stable, and more hopeful future for the people of Sulu, where conflicts are resolved through due process and the rule of law and not through discord or retribution. Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity Sec. Carlito Galvez, Jr. accompanied the justices who flew from Zamboanga to Sulu via two Black Hawk helicopters. The new HOJ will feature a glass structure with a neoclassical façade and will be located at the Sulu Provincial Capitol Grounds in Patikul, Sulu.

𝐕𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐎: '𝐑𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞, ' 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐬 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐬 Popular skit maker, Mark Angel, has cautioned youths and residents of Rivers State to steer clear of the ongoing political crisis in the state. His warning follows President Bola Tinubu’s decision to suspend Governor Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy, and all elected members of the House of Assembly for six months. Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas has been appointed as the state's administrator. Mark Angel stressed that the conflict stems from political disagreements and broken agreements between government factions, issues that do not concern the public, especially young people. He urged them to focus on their businesses, health, and personal development rather than getting entangled in political disputes. In a video shared on his Instagram handle on Wednesday, the 33-year-old Rivers-born content creator recalled how he and his team had warned about such a crisis through their skits two years ago, though their concerns were dismissed at the time. Mark said: “My fellow Rivers state people and all residents especially the youths, it is not your matter, it does not concern you. It is government versus government. The government said they had an agreement with the other government. “Now the agreement did not hold even though they have their personal issues. But what I want to let you know is that this is not your concern. We said a lot of jokes and made skits about this issue about two years ago, we were warning that this was going to happen, now it has happened. “The government ignored those videos, tagging them as jokes and skits but now it is being manifested. So leave them to fight their fight, if they announce military rule for 10 years, no problem. As long as we can come out, do our businesses, eat and progress in the society. “Do not fight over someone else’s issues. The governor who is asking us to protest, how did he enter power? All of us know now, so they know themselves, let them settle their issues, do not get involved.” Credit: Instagram | markangelcomedy --- Follow us for more breaking news and videos

Biden allies will unload ‘Palinesque’ stories about Kamala Harris’ failings if ex-veep discusses his cognitive decline: report | Victor Nava Joe Biden’s allies are prepared to “escalate” and reveal unflattering stories about Kamala Harris should the former vice president decide to talk about the former president’s cognitive decline, according to a veteran political journalist. The stories about Harris’ tenure as Biden’s No. 2 are “Palinesque,” 2WAY’s Mark Halperin said Friday, a reference to former Alaska governor and Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin. “I will tell you, and this has never been reported, barely at all: if the Biden people decide that Kamala is coming after Joe Biden, wait till you hear the ‘Palinesque’ stories about how much they tried to help her be prepared to be vice president and be in a position to run. And how much they decided, ‘Not happening. She’s not up to this,’” Halperin said on “The Morning Meeting” show. In the aftermath of late Sen. John McCain’s (R-Ariz.) loss to former President Barack Obama in the 2008 presidential election, leaks from campaign staffers suggested that Palin, McCain’s running mate, was woefully unprepared for the job. In one infamous report, campaign staffers claimed that Palin did not know Africa was a continent and that she could not name the three countries that formed the North American Free Trade Agreement – the United States, Canada and Mexico. “If the Biden people feel threatened, you will hear stories about Kamala Harris as vice president that will not make her look good,” Halperin said. “So there’s a closeness to the couples,” he added. “It’s not like they’re at war currently, but I’m telling you, if Joe Biden feels threatened, if his people feel threatened by her, this is gonna escalate in a big way.” Halperin argued that Harris would have a “hard time defending against the stories if that dam bursts.” Journalists Alex Thompson and Jake Tapper detail some of the frustrations Biden loyalists had with the VP in their recent book, “Original Sin.” In the book, Harris was described as a “regular headache” for the White House, according to Biden people. “She often shied away from politically tough assignments when Biden had accepted such assignments as vice president,” the authors write. “She even turned down seemingly simple asks, such as headlining DC’s Gridiron Club dinner.“ “Many on the Biden team felt that Harris didn’t put in the work and was also just not a very nice person,” according to the book. “Several quietly expressed buyer’s remorse: They should have picked [Michigan Gov. Gretchen] Whitmer” as Biden’s running mate in 2020. Halperin argued that Biden’s people “were extraordinary in trying to help her do the job of vice president.” “They gave her every opportunity. And they did — they found in some instances that she had some issues.” Read more:

Why Did Jack Smith ignore Biden family scandals when he was head of DOJs Public Integrity Section, tasked with investigating political corruption? In May 2014, the Obama/Biden White House was scrambling to deflect questions related to Hunter Biden’s new gig as a board member at Burisma, the compromised Ukrainian energy conglomerate; the news came just a few weeks after Vice President Joe Biden visited Kiev and promised Ukrainian leaders that the U.S. was “ready to assist” the country’s efforts to accelerate natural gas exploration. (At the time, Burisma was Ukraine's biggest natural gas producer.) The day after Burisma issued a public statement boasting about their latest hire, White House press secretary Jay Carney ducked questions about the younger Biden during a May 13, 2014 briefing: Reporter: On another subject, Hunter Biden has now taken a position with the largest oil and gas company--holding company in Ukraine. Is there any concern about at least the appearance of a conflict there--for the Vice President’s son to take a- Carney: I would refer you to the Vice President’s office. I saw those reports. Hunter Biden and other members of the Biden family are obviously private citizens and where they work does not reflect an endorsement by the administration or by the Vice President or President. But I would refer you to the Vice President’s office. Kendra Barkoff, a Biden spokeswoman, offered the same talking points in a terse statement to the media. “Hunter Biden is a private citizen and a lawyer. The vice president does not endorse any particular company and has no involvement with this company." During a State Department briefing later that day, Jen Psaki smirked away one question about the vice president's son, insisting it was of no concern to the agency. Nevertheless, major news outlets here and around the world continued to raise the improper, if not brazenly pay-to-play, nature of the arrangement. “Vice President Joe Biden's youngest son Hunter Biden has joined the board of directors of Ukraine's largest oil company at a time that the U.S. is urging Ukraine to develop energy independence from Russia and just days after the vice president visited Ukraine,” ABC News reported in May 2014, noting the fortuitous timing of the announcement. “The appointment of the vice president's son to a Ukrainian oil board looks nepotistic at best, nefarious at worst,” Adam Taylor, Washington Post foreign affairs reporter, surmised in a May 14, 2014 article. “No matter how qualified Biden is, it ties into the idea that U.S. foreign policy is self-interested. [You] have to wonder how big the salary has to be to put U.S. soft power at risk like this.” And despite Psaki’s spin, State Department officials soon after expressed concern about the “perception of a conflict of interest,” even taking those concerns to Vice President Joe Biden’s office in early 2015. But one person in official Washington seemed uninterested in the shady deal between a corrupt international gas company operating in a notoriously unstable country and America’s most troubled nepo-baby: Jack Smith. Smith—appointed by Attorney General Merrick Garland last year to take over DOJs dual investigations into Donald Trump for alleged mishandling of classified documents and the events of January 6—was named chief of the Department of Justice’s Public Integrity Section, or PIN, in August 2010. Operating within the criminal division, PIN maintains broad purview over public corruption investigations on the federal, state, and local level including cases tied to “a government official…or someone associated with such an official,” according to the office’s annual report. Smith held that powerful position until February 2015—meaning Hunter Biden’s years-long board position with Burisma ultimately resulting in a $4 million windfall for the vice president’s son began right under Jack Smith’s nose. This is certainly contrary to what the public has been told about Jack Smith. The news media, “legal experts” in particular, insist Jack Smith is a no-nonsense federal prosecutor with unmatched integrity and devotion to the rule of law. Smith, according to his former DOJ colleague Andrew Weissmann, is a “consummate professional” and a “skilled and fast prosecutor who does not let the grass grow under his feet." So, what happened? How did the keen-eyed, apolitical Smith and his 30-plus lawyers miss what was happening just blocks from their DOJ offices? Perhaps Smith truly bought Burisma’s spin that the company selected Hunter based on his “expertise” in foreign policy and the law. Or perhaps Smith believed Hunter Biden when he said he would consult Burisma on matters relating to “transparency, corporate governance, and responsibility.” 😂 Maybe Smith was too busy prosecuting Republican governor Bob McDonnell and his wife at the time—a case later overturned by the Supreme Court—that he missed the international headlines of how a British government agency had seized $23 million in assets belonging to Burisma’s owner amid suspicions of money laundering the very same month Hunter was appointed to the board. Maybe Smith was just a tender heart who thought Hunter quickly turned over a new leaf. After all, Hunter had been discharged from the Naval reserves just three months before the Burisma appointment was announced. Hunter’s misadventures were among the worst kept secrets in Washington but maybe Smith was still reeling from his unsuccessful prosecution of former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards to pay attention to Biden family gossip. And it wasn’t just the Burisma gig that somehow evaded Smith’s attention; Hunter made his overseas business dealings well known. He, along with fellow nepo-baby Christopher Heinz, stepson of then-Senator John Kerry, launched Rosemont Seneca in 2009. “Over the next seven years, as both Joe Biden and John Kerry negotiated sensitive and high-stakes deals with foreign governments, Rosemont entities secured a series of exclusive deals often with those same foreign governments,” investigative reporter Peter Schweizer wrote in his 2018 book. (Schweizer also noted that the private-equity firm did not open an office in New York City, the financial capital of the world, but in Washington, D.C., “just two miles from both Joe Biden’s office in the White House and his residence at the Naval Observatory.”) Multiple deals were cut as Smith led the government’s most powerful “public corruption” unit. And some of the most lucrative arrangements were with Chinese businesses tied to the Chinese Communist Party, partnerships that just happened to coincide with Hunter’s trips to China with his father. “[The 2013 trip to China] was a triumph for Hunter, who walked away with his first big deal in China—the Bohai Harvest Rosemont investment partnership,” Miranda Devine wrote in her 2021 book, “Laptop From Hell.” Devine explained the deal was consummated on December 16, 2013, “twelve days after he flew into Beijing on Air Force Two. Hunter officially became a shareholder and member of the BHR board.” Smith probably missed the July 2014 article in the Wall Street Journal touting the private equity partnership with the vice president’s son aimed at enriching the CCP. “The funds are raising a combination of yuan and U.S. dollars. The effort is the latest example [of] private equity pushing boundaries in an area that China hopes will help drive the country's economic transformation.” Now, perhaps there was nothing untoward about Hunter Biden’s sudden interest and success at global private equity. But surely the use of Air Force Two to conduct personal business—Hunter accompanied his father on 70 overseas trips including six trips to China on Smith’s watch—should have caught someone’s attention at DOJs “public integrity” unit, no? The answer, of course, is no. Was Smith asleep at the switch or intentionally ignorant or once again doing the dirty work of the Democratic Party? Smith have put a stop to the Biden family international shakedown nearly a decade ago--why didn't he? At what risk did he put the country by turning a blind eye to this egregious level of influence peddling in nations hostile to American interests? As Smith eagerly prepares to sign his name to another criminal indictment against Donald Trump for the events of January 6, Hunter Biden’s plea deal with Smith’s employer is falling apart along with further confirmation of how the younger Biden hauled in millions from countries such as China and Ukraine by leveraging his last name to support himself, his addictions, and his family—including, quite possibly, his father as well. All of this could have been halted in its tracks long ago. And the person primarily responsible for letting it get to this point is none other than Jack Smith.
