Played the hell outta this game back in the PS2 days but never finished it. Finally played the whole thing a couple years back, and it’s still a damn good time even in 2024. You can really see how much the Arkham series borrowed from this here game.

this game is almost Arkham Knight-ish in how it has combat, stealth, puzzles, and batmobile stuff, except batman begins is totally linear. the movie-based batman video games need to come back in my opinion, especially now that arkhamverse's future is unclear.

My favorite Batman game of all time. I loved Batman & Robin so was very sad to see the franchise fade from the big screen. Then, in the same year Star Wars was (seemingly) ending, Batman was beginning again. A whole new vibe, tone and flow and I was all in on the new origin story. Having this to play alongside the movie felt like the experience went beyond the big screen. It was an event you lived in.

I will never forget driving the Tumbler. I had Fuel cranked up and was living my best life. Such a great game.

This game was so cool at the time. The developer, Eurocom, also did Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy before this, and the ladder climbing animation for Batman is the same as Sphinx. Small tidbit. 😆

Higher FPS than most modern games

These are great cloth physics for 2005. I remember watching cloth physics in 2009 in Mirrors Edge and it was similar to this, almost 4 years later.

I remember seeing an article about this before it came out talking about how it was gonna be this amazing genre redefining thing, then I never heard anything about it ever again
