Baxter has an advanced case of CCD. Canine Cognitive Dysfunction. Doggie dementia. Our wonderful vet actually used the words "months" and "hospice" last week. He's my heart dog. Some days he may struggle. So days I may struggle. All I ask is your support for both of us.

My guy had it for 1.5 yrs. He was in pretty good shape physically, and I didn’t have the heart to put him down. It was excruciating watching him and dealing with his decline. I regret not handling it better. I wish you and Baxter the best.

I’m sorry. I lived through it with Charlie, it’s hard, but strangely satisfying. It’s our chance to show them how much we have appreciated their love.

We understand, our Charlie Brown had a touch of it, we just loved on him until we had to say goodbye. Just love him, some days are easy, some are hard but he knows you love him. 🤗 🐶 💕

One of my dogs developed, and we just took extra care to make sure he didn’t get in any dangerous situations. Restricted him in the house. Rescued him a few times from getting stuck in a corner or behind a piece of furniture. But he was sweet and gentle and loving to the end. ❤️
